Grove led the American League in wins in four separate seasons, in strikeouts seven years in a row, and had the league's lowest earned run average a record nine times.
With a 79-15 record, Grove led the Athletics to three AL championships straight, won the pitcher’s Triple Crown twice, and led the league in wins, strikeouts, and ERA between 1929 and 1931.

In his 17-year MLB career Grove won 300 games.
Considered one of the MLB’s greatest pitchers, he was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1947.

Former professional baseball player Micah Johnson, now an artist, has created four giant trading cards. These cards are part of a tribute to the Negro Leagues and historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham, AL. They are currently on tour to promote MLB’s upcoming regular season games at Rickwood this summer. Additionally, Topps is releasing smaller versions of these cards on its website, with one new card revealed each week. The featured players include Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson, Jackie Robinson, and Willie Mays. Furthermore, a six-card set—including those four players along with Larry Doby and Monte Irvin—will be available next month. 🌟

A former pro baseball player created giant pieces of art that have also become Topps baseball cards in honor of the Negro Leagues and the upcoming game at Rickwood Field in Birmingham.

It seems that only Ruth would find himself in such a theatrical setting as he came to the plate in his last regular season at bat, one last chance to meet the hopes and expectations of the sold out crowd who had come to see history made. Tom Zachary of the Senators was poised looking in at the Babe as he started his wind up ready to deliver a screwball. Zachary lets go of the ball with the intent of it breaking in and down away from Ruth but as luck would have it instead, the ball broke over the plate and Ruth crushed it on a line drive shooting it into the right field bleachers just inches fair. The Yankee bench erupted and the fans could not be contained as they cheered in a roaring thunder giving an ovation to the king of baseball. Only Babe could have scripted this scene and actually made it happen!
