The mountains have always represented a place to recharge and clear my head. This backroad through Kananaskis is the perfect place to do just that.

It’s a slow burn, twisting and weaving its way through some of the most pristine landscapes you could ever imagine.

There’s a lot of “favourite mountains” out there but Mount Shark is always a looker.

Got the chance to sneak in a quick Montreal layover. No trip through here would be complete without a stroll through the old part (plus smoked meat and poutine obvi). This morning was extra moody after a fresh rain and the perfect way to start the day with a coffee in hand. Merci Montreal, a tantôt.⚜️

Strolling through the cobblestone streets of Barrio París-Londres almost feels like stepping into a different country. Almost.

The Chilean charm and vibes are still in full effect. It’s the winding, narrow avenues and old world architecture that gives you the feeling that you’re walking among something historical, because you are. This area has a storied past, both good and also very dark.

Upscale boutique hotels and cafes are scattered throughout the meticulously maintained neighbourhood. Down Londres Street though, you’ll find #38. It played a pivotal and disturbing role throughout the dark days of the Pinochet dictatorship. It’s now the home to a memorial for the citizens that never left or were disappeared. It was closed when we were there but I look forward to returning, learning and paying my respects.

The architecture of Castillo Hidalgo and Feunte Neptuno demands attention with its awe inspiring size, rich colours and smooth lines.

Truly a remarkable way to spend a day, admiring, learning and shooting the endless amount of sights. The history dates back to the turn of the 19th century and has been meticulously preserved to represent that era. Being a history nerd, this was right up my alley.

To really get a full perspective of the vast size of Santiago, San Cristóbal Hill is the place. Being part of one of the largest urban green spaces in the world, it makes it a stunning centre piece to the city.

From god fearing folk to camera toting tourists, the top is constantly bustling and the vistas make it easy to understand why. With the ease of gondolas and funiculars hauling the masses to the top, it keeps a steady flow of eager humans launching to the peak all day long.

The last 2 photos are close to the bottom of the hill. The blue building is one of the homes of legendary Nobel prize winning poet, diplomat and revolutionary, Pablo Neruda. No photos are allowed inside and understandably so. It’s a shrine to his life, love and dedication to Chile. Undoubtedly my favourite attraction thus far.

Valparaiso, what an unreal city. I’ve had the opportunity to visit a few port cities in my travels but this one definitely hits different for a number of reasons.

Firstly, the city sits upon a stunning backdrop of rolling steep hills to one side and vistas of the endless Pacific to the other.

Secondly, the historic architecture and planning that has been invested is not only remarkable but it truly accentuates the surrounding landscapes. Bringing them to life with colour and curiosity.

Thirdly, you can’t turn your head in any direction without being awe struck with next level art. Some of it preplanned and commissioned, the rest impromptu. Driving home the message that artistic expression is not only live and well here but an absolute way of life.

Fourthly, is the odd name connection to my home. Not far from where I grew up exists a hamlet that is named after this historic destination. I have absolutely no clue as to why but if anyone out there does, I need to know!

I could literally spend days wandering (and sweating) my way throughout these enchanting streets, alleys, nooks and crannies without ever getting bored. Perhaps one day I will again.

The streets of Santiago are a bustling thing of beauty. At any given moment there’s mass amounts of people hurrying along in every direction.

A mix of old and new architecture provides an endless amount of wonder, constantly fueling curiosity. Citizens that call this city home are eager to help and are rightfully proud of the stunning country that surrounds them. It gives me a sense of security (maybe it’s naivety) and makes me feel at home.

Multiculturalism is woven into every fabric. Reminding me of Canada and offering a vast amount of culinary delights. It’s great to be back after 4 years away, and when there’s not a global pandemic in full swing. Can’t wait to continue this adventure and discover what’s around the next corner.

Viva Chile!🇨🇱

Looking forward to the warmer seasons on the horizon and all the mountain road trips that come with them.🏔️

Castle Mountain has long been my favourite throughout the Rockies and probably the world. No matter the season, I’ll never get tired of admiring and capturing it through my lens.

A stroll through Chinatown - one of my favourite spots in the city to explore. There’s so much here beyond the outer walls of these historic buildings. The culture is rich, the food is unreal and the architecture, stunning. No matter how many times I walk these streets and alleys, there’s always something new around the corner waiting to be discovered. What’s your favourite part of YYC’s Chinatown?

Lonely Road - we often take the 1A highway on our drive to the mountains. It’s always a chill, lazy drive compared to the madness that is the Trans Canada.

The scenery really starts to take shape when you’re passing through the foothills and the lands of the Stoney Nakoda Nation. It’s that slow ascent into the alpine that allows you to truly appreciate your surroundings and take time to reflect.

We’re forever grateful to the owners and stewards of this land for letting us partake in its beauty.🙏
