🇧🇷 Uhuu! Depois de uma longa semana trabalhando duro em alguns projetos, ainda a serem revelados, estamos celebrando nosso 100º post (mais o 101º e o 102º)! E para eternizar este marco, escolhemos este esplêndido cenário de cartão postal com um belo panorama do False Creek e da English Bay vistos da Sunset Beach.
Você pode ver a ponte Burrard (à esquerda), o Museu de Vancouver , o centro espacial HR Macmillan e o Parque Vanier na fronteira sul da enseada (ao centro) e a English Bay (à direita).

🇨🇦 Yeah! After a long week working hard on some projects, yet to be revealed, we are celebrating our 100th post (plus the 101st and 102nd)! And to eternize this milestone, we chose this splendid postcard scenery with a beautiful panorama of the False Creek and English Bay from Sunset Beach.
You can see the Burrard bridge (on the left), the Museum of Van , HR Macmillan space centre , and the Vanier Park on the south border of the inlet (at the center), and the English Bay (on the right).

🇧🇷 Extra! Já que alguns de vocês perguntaram sobre a balsa, decidimos convidá-los à vir conosco em nosso longo (2 minutos! 😆) caminho de volta ao centro da cidade. Nessa o ingresso é por nossa conta. Vocês pagam a próxima. 😉

🇨🇦 "No man is an island." And neither is Granville Island (it's a peninsula as we've told you before 😅). But it's fair to say that the sum of all people working hard here plus the great work of mother nature made this place very special. After 6 hours of walking, taking pictures, eating (have we already said how much we ate well here?), meeting and talking to friendly workers, we gotta say goodbye.
One last tip: although it has indoor attractions, the island is better appreciated with sunny skies, especially for its scenic views. We know "Raincouver" can be tricky sometimes, but try to pay your visit on a warm day and be prepared to linger. Now, back to our next tour plans. What's next? Any guesses?🎄
🇧🇷 "Nenhum homem é uma ilha." Muito menos a Ilha Granville (que é uma península como já contamos antes 😅). Mas é justo dizer que a soma de todas as pessoas trabalhando duro aqui somado ao grande trabalho da mãe natureza tornam este lugar muito especial. Depois de 6 horas caminhando, fotografando, comendo (já falamos o quanto comemos bem aqui?), conhecendo e conversando com simpáticos trabalhadores, temos que nos despedir.
Uma última dica: apesar de possuir atrações internas, a ilha é melhor apreciada com o céu ensolarado, principalmente por suas vistas panorâmicas. Sabemos que "Raincouver" pode ser traiçoeira às vezes, mas tente fazer sua visita num dia quente e prepare-se pra ficar mais do que planejou. Agora, de volta aos planos do próximo passeio. Algum palpite do que vem a seguir?🎄

🇨🇦 Granville Island offers not only incredible views of Vancouver, but it also provides remarkable amenities. Exploring the area will lead you to many parks such as Ron Basford, Railspur, Sutcliffe, and Splashpark; the Kids Market, the False Creek Community Centre, a hotel, various performing arts theatres, fine arts galleries, and a variety of shopping areas and restaurants. It's also not very unlikely that you run into something unusual and surprising like a falcon trainer! 😃
Granville Island is also the name of a beer company, the Granville Island Brewing Co., which originated on the island in 1984. It continues to brew small batches of its varieties at the original brewing and offers beer tasting and tours of its brewing facilities.

🇨🇦 You can't leave Granville Island without visiting the Public Market, a must-see for residents and tourists! Every day since 1979, this place features a farmers' market, day vendors, and artists offering local Vancouver goods. Operating year-round in an enclosed facility where customers can purchase fresh produce, cheeses, meat, fish, seafood, and other products, many locally sourced, it astonishes by the variety of products, tastes, colors, and aromas. We, of course, gave a try at some apples... and donuts (), pastry (), coffee, and ice cream () for our afternoon snacks and fish (Halibut) and chips (Celine's 💙) for dinner. The pictures don't lie: all wonderfully prepared. Yummy! 😋 -- Oh, and did you know we can study English here!?! Yes, we can. Follow our visual dictionary with some fruits and vegetable vocabulary in English on the stories today!!!
🇧🇷 Você não pode deixar a Ilha Granville sem visitar o Mercado Público, parada obrigatória para moradores e turistas! Todos os dias desde 1979, este lugar oferece um mercado de agricultores, vendedores ambulantes e artistas que oferecem produtos locais de Vancouver. Operando o ano todo em uma instalação fechada onde os clientes podem comprar produtos frescos, queijos, carnes, peixes, frutos do mar e outros produtos, muitos de origem local, ele surpreende pela variedade de produtos, sabores, cores e aromas. Claro que nós experimentamos algumas maçãs... e donuts (), pastelaria (), café e sorvete (@ rogerschocolates1885) para o nosso lanche da tarde, e peixe (Halibut) com batatas fritas (Celine's 💙) para o jantar. As fotos não mentem: todos maravilhosamente preparados. Delícia! 😋 - Ah, e você sabia que podemos estudar inglês aqui!?! Sim, nós podemos. 🇧🇷 Cuidado, os Gigantes!!! Parte do projeto de arte da Bienal de Vancouver, este mural belo, engraçado e "gigantesco" mural (7,1 mil m²) pintado nas paredes dos silos da Concreto Oceano na Ilha Granville foi o primeiro de uma série global pintada pelos artistas gêmeos brasileiros Osgemeos em 2014. Além das enormes proporções, é o único em 3D, o que o torna único no mundo. Eles são os maiores, mas não os únicos. Caminhando pela ilha, você encontrará muitas outras obras de arte pública de diferentes tamanhos e estilos tornando este passeio ainda mais incrível.
🇨🇦 Watch out, the Giants!!! Part of the Vancouver Biennale art project, this beautiful, funny, and "gigantic" mural (23,5k ft²) painted on the Ocean's Concrete silos walls at Granville Island was the first of a global series painted by the Brazilian twin artists Osgemeos in 2014. In addition to its huge proportions, it's the only one in 3D, making it unique in the world. They're the biggest ones, but not the only ones. Walking around the island and you will run into many other public art pieces of different sizes and styles making this tour even more amazing.

🇧🇷 A Ilha Granville é na verdade uma península!? 😱 Sim!!! Tecnicamente, ela é uma península, pois suas terras estão conectadas à cidade por um lado. E muito antes de se tornar um famoso bairro comercial, ela era uma área de pesca usada pelas Primeiras Nações (Povos Indígenas). Anteriormente um banco de areia, esta área teve quase 760.000 m³ de aterro dragado das proximidades para se tornar uma "ilha". Dada a quantidade de água ainda ao seu redor, as atividades ligadas a este recurso são habituais. A pesca faz parte do dia a dia dos trabalhadores da área. Você pode ver todos os tipos de frutos do mar viajando dos barcos aos pratos. Fique de olhos bem abertos para ir além dos peixes e avistar vários pássaros e até esta cativante lontra! Preenchida e rodeada por água, flores, árvores e áreas verdes, a ilha é parada obrigatória para os amantes da natureza. 💚
🇨🇦 Is Granville Island actually a peninsula!? 😱 Yes!!! It's technically a peninsula since its lands are connected to the city by one side. And long before becoming a famous shopping district, it was a fishing area used by the First Nations (Indigenous People). Formerly a sandbar, this area had almost 760,000 m³ of fill dredged from the nearby to create the "island". Given the amount of water still surrounding it, activities linked to this resource are habitual. Fishing is part of the daily routine of the workers in the area. You can see all kinds of seafood traveling from the boats to the plates. Keep your eyes wide open to go beyond fishes and spot several birds and even this captivating otter! Filled and surrounded by water, flowers, trees, and green areas, the island is a must for nature lovers. 💚

🇧🇷 Todos a bordo do navio, marinheiros. Próxima parada: Ilha Granville!!! Bem, pessoal, lamentamos desapontar os recém-chegados, mas a Ilha Granville não é selvagem nem distante. Na verdade, é uma península e um distrito comercial em Vancouver, localizado do outro lado do False Creek a partir do centro, sob a extremidade sul da ponte Granville Street. Poderíamos ir de carro, táxi, ônibus ou bicicleta, mas optamos por pegar essa colorida e charmosa balsa para curtir uma experiência de navegação. Não podemos dizer que foi barato, mas foi rápido e seguro, e a vista valeu muito a pena! Recomendamos que vocês experimentem, ao menos uma vez, enquanto estiverem em Vancouver.
🇨🇦 All aboard the ship. Next stop: Granville Island!!! Well, sailors, we're sorry to disappoint the newcomers, but Granville Island isn't wild nor far away. Actually, it's a peninsula and a shopping district in Vancouver, located across False Creek from Downtown under the south end of the Granville Street Bridge. We could go there by car, taxi, bus or bike, but we chose to catch this colorful and charming ferry to enjoy a sailing experience. We can't say it was cheap, but it was quick and safe, and the view paid off pretty much. We recommend you try it, at least once, while you're in Vancouver.

🇧🇷 Para todos vocês que esperaram pacientemente por este momento, ele finalmente chegou! Após uma caminhada de 6,4 quilômetros e muitas fotos de belezas naturais, artes públicas, arquitetura rica e informações culturais, nos despedimos do nosso quarto dia em Vancouver com este pôr do sol de tirar o fôlego! 🌅 Desejamos a todos uma ótima semana, pessoal.

After a 6.4 kilometers length walk and many pictures of natural beauties, public arts, rich architecture, and cultural information, we said goodbye to our fourth day in Vancouver with this breathtaking sunset! 🌅 We wish you all a great week, guys.

🇧🇷 Muito bem, de volta à Sunset beach, onde temos a charmosa “217,5 Arco x 13”, uma escultura aninhada e curvada no mesmo ângulo, proporcionando uma sensação de equilíbrio e graça. As 13 curvas repetitivas causam uma sensação de movimento e fluidez em repouso, porém rítmica, e é quase impossível vê-la e não tirar uma foto (ou com ela! rsrs). Adquirida pela Vancouver Biennale Legacy Foundation em 2007, ela faz parte de uma série de esculturas com arcos que ilustram a beleza, o equilíbrio e a maleabilidade do aço bruto pelo autor Bernar Venet. “Os níveis crescentes de abstração e complexidade assustam aqueles para quem a arte é um meio de atingir uma expressão confortável de calma, luxo e deleite.” - Bernar Venet
🇨🇦 Alright, back to Sunset beach, here we have the charming “217.5 Arc x 13”, a sculpture nested and curved to the same angle providing a sense of balance and grace. The repetitive 13 curves give a resting yet rhythmic sense of movement and fluidity, and it's nearly impossible to see it and not take a picture of it(or with it! laughs). Acquired by the Vancouver Biennale Legacy Foundation in 2007 it is part of an Arc series of sculptures that illustrate the beauty, balance, and malleability of raw steel by Bernar Venet. “Increasing levels of abstraction and complexity frighten those for whom art is a means to attain a comfortable expression of calm, luxury, and delight.” – Bernar Venet

🇧🇷 Como foi seu Dia das Bruxas este ano? 🎃👻🦇 Nós tivemos nossa cota de guloseimas (da loja de doces hehehe) sem truques, devido à Assombração Corona. Porém tivemos emoção de sobra no bairro de West End, Vancouver, em 2018. Este é nosso último lote de fotos com belas decorações e moradores gentis e alegres em seus trajes criativos daquela noite. A seguir, voltaremos àquele tão desejado pôr do sol na praia e algumas outras surpresas para vocês, pois “o Natal está chegando”, pessoal. 🎄⛄🎅🦌🎁
🇨🇦 What was your Halloween like this year? 🎃👻🦇 Although we had our share of treats (from the candy shop lol) with no tricks due to Corona Ghost, we have had a blast in the West End district, Vancouver, in 2018. This is our last batch of pics with beautiful decorations and kind and merry residents in their creative costumes from that night. Next, we'll go back to that long-desired sunset on the beach and some other surprises for you, 'cause “Christmas is just around the corner”, guys. 🎄⛄🎅🦌🎁
