Nothing Left
I never heard my brothers words, “stop betraying yourself”
Broke promises to myself
He said, “stop making friends with dealers its bad for your health”
3 hours since I smoke my last bowl of day dreams and peace
Alive but there's no life left to lead
Y'know, you only notice you're going down the wrong way,
when hanging my head I see my,
both eyes reflection in a puddle
choking cries of ‘given up’.
Start thinking, start listening,
things I never did enough
Alive when there's nothing left to feed
Screaming silently red I see
come and take me
Every tired wrinkle a memory as good as dead and gone
wishing I could call my mom
But everyone's uncomfortable just thinking of me
Except other nobodies
Except vampires:
the world turns from the mouths of liars.
Except corner hookers
Some are underage
“Get in the car, you'll be safe”
I hear somebody say.
Like a small bird though,
Whos blessed with wings but only a few years until death
My lips quietly sing and I write words in my head
There's just some parts of us that never, never die!
And survive being buried deep forever,
They build a place fit for a sage that's safe inside
it's those parts that bring us back to life
One last time,
everytime
