Queer Radio Vancouver Q***rFM Van Canada's longest running radio show HOSTS Barb Snelgrove & DJ Denise Fraser each Tueday! Heather Kitching, Aeryn Saint, Jared Knudsen.

Q***r FM Vancouver is one of Canada's longest running LGBTTQ2+ radio programs, gratefully broadcasting for over 30 years on the unceded and traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. Hosted/Produced by DJ Denise Fraser and Barb (megamouthmedia) Snelgrove, Q***r FM Van airs Tuesday mornings, repeating the broadcast on Friday at the same time, 8am – 10am (PST) or streaming globally at http://bit.ly/Q***rFM | Listen LIVE in Vancouver on 101.9FM! DIY feminist punk band, THE BLUSHES the blushes are three life-long best friends from Los Angeles, setting out to inject joy, glitter and hardcore girliness into alternative rock. They join us to chat all things “Blushie” from merch and music to female empowerment in music and beyond! Featuring bandmates KATIE JANE EARL on vocals and drums, JESSIE PAYO on bass and vocals and LORI DORFMAN on vocals and guitar.

JASON SAKAKI JASON SAKAKI and JEFFREY FOLLIS Jeffrey Michael Follis are two of the Actors starring in the Leo Award winning mockumentary comedy series on OUTtv, THE DRESSING ROOM The Dressing Room - that features the behind the scenes of a fictional musical called Balloon Boy, a show based on the 2009 hoax in Colorado.

Filmed in Vancouver, THE DRESSING ROOM is a The Leo Awards winning mockumentary comedy series on OUTtv showing behind the scenes at a fictional musical called Balloon Boy.

We have two of the actors from the show to talk about their roles and the production:

JASON SAKAKI (he/him) is a q***r Japanese Canadian actor/director from Vancouver. He recurs in Season 1 of AMC’s THE AUDACITY, Prime Video’s STERLING POINT, and all episodes of DEVIL IN OHIO on Netflix. Next he will be appearing opposite Matthew Broderick in the feature film THE BEST IS YET TO COME, and the final season of YELLOWJACKETS. He stars in all episodes of the Leo Award-winning series THE DRESSING ROOM. You can follow the Artist on Insta at JASON SAKAKI

JEFFREY FOLLIS (he/him) is a Vancouver-based actor and songwriter contributing his talents to both the screen and songbook of the hit q***r sitcom The Dressing Room. An award-winning performer across stage and screen, Jeffrey recently won a Leo Award for Best Supporting Performance for his work in the musical feature film Starwalker, alongside extensive work with the Arts Club and as a touring vocalist across Western Canada. As a songwriter, his track “Too Far in Love”—featured in the show, marks his debut release under his own name, Follis. Jeffrey is dedicated to creating original art where q***r voices take centre stage rather than fitting into the background of other people’s stories. Jeffrey is on Insta Jeffrey Michael Follis

DIY feminist punk band, THE BLUSHES are three life-long best friends forever from Los Angeles, California, setting out to inject joy, glitter and hardcore girliness into alternative rock. Taking to the stage with sweet bows and frills, these three Southern California sweethearts quickly electrify the room with a surprising rawness, calling back the excitement of the early 90’s West Coast music scene.

Consisting of KATIE JANE EARL on vocals and drums, JESSIE PAYO on bass and vocals and LORI DORFMAN on vocals and guitar, The Blushes walk in the footsteps of foremothers Bikini Kill, The Shangra-Las, Babes in Toyland, Courtney Love, Patti Smith and the Spice Girls - defining their version of intersectional punk-feminism within the Southern California landscape.

“Pride is a protest, a battle cry, whereas History Month is a celebration.” - LGBTQ Nation

October is 2SLGBTQ History Month, (LGBTQ History Month) an annual month-long global observance that provides role models, builds community, and represents a civil rights statement about the invaluable contributions of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Founded in 1994 by Rodney Wilson, a gay history teacher from rural Missouri, 2SLGBTQ History Month coincides with National Coming Out Day (October 11th).
