NEXT WEEK ON QUEERFM🎙️we talk connectivity, love and music with…

Alt-Hip-Pop artist TeawhYB (T-Y-B) (he/him) brings a highly engaging positive, party vibe tied together with a universally adored song catalog.

Having gained national attention with placement on Apple Music’s Proud Radio with Hunter Kelly (“Supernova”, “Cabin”, “Down Bad”), song placement in a Capital One ad with NBA Hall of Fame player Charles Barkley, and having his music played in NBA and NCAA arenas, TeawhYB continues to push the boundaries to what an LGBTQ artist is supposed to be.

TeawhYB represents a brand of authenticity and ultimate connectivity, providing heartfelt commentary centered on self-actualization, celebration, and sorrow over guitars, synths, and drum kits.

His latest release is SOMETHING ABOUT YOU an upbeat, dance-driven R&B record built on slowed-up samples, hypnotic grooves, and raw emotion and features some amazing riffs from on guitar. You can find him on all the socials at

NEXT WEEK ON QUEERFM🎙️…
As the temps🌡️ rise, so does the music 🔥! If MELANIN SZN isn’t on your latest summer pride playlist then you need to get with it!

Produced by the icon 💎 Lady Pista, it features powerhouses Makayla, Sanjina and Lexxicon on vocals. We chat about its creation with…

LADY PISTA (she/her) is a Tamil-Canadian music producer and artist known for her fearless, genre-blending sound. She fuses South Asian influences with global music styles, creating a signature blend that’s both fresh and rooted.
With over 5 million views on social media and a mission to bridge cultures, Lady Pista is a confident innovator, creating music that connects diverse audiences while promoting inclusivity and empowerment.

Born in Toronto, MAKAYLA (she/her) grew up with a family that praised creative thinking and artistic values. She attended school as a theatre major where she took part in many arts-related opportunities.

While finding her footing after graduation, Makayla looked to performing and modelling as her way to express herself, which in turn became drag. She went on to being featured on Canada’s Drag Race Season 5 as a runner up and a cast member on OutTv’s Call Me Mother.

Their new tune is Melanin SZN, a bad bi*ch anthem that is loud, proud, and fearless.

At its core, the song is deeply 2S/LGBTQIA+, celebrating q***rness, trans joy, and chosen family. It’s about taking up space, being seen, and owning your power without apology.

It’s available on all the streamers and check out the red-hot video for it on YouTube! You can find both Artists on Instagram at and .couture

NEXT WEEK ON QUEERFM🎙️we take a deep dive into FABULOUS exploring ballroom culture and the new production MY HOUSE with…

RALPH ESCAMILLAN aka Legendary Posh (he/him) is an award-winning q***r, Canadian-Filipinx performance artist, choreographer and teacher based in Vancouver, BC. His work questions notions of identity, tradition and clothing, and the influence of pop culture in a globalizing world.

As the artistic director of FakeKnot and Vancouver Ballroom Arts Society, he develops inclusive and collaborative performance works that have been presented both nationally and internationally. Having ancestral roots in the Philippines, he’s fascinated by inquiries into what it means to be North American, especially within the context of cultural traditions, dance, music and costume.

Princess Pegasus “Peggy” PinkLady (she/her) is a ballroom performer/competitor, commentator, and prominent figure in the Vancouver Ballroom Scene. Since coming into the scene back in 2023 she has won trophies, accolades and awards from the Kiki and Mainstream scene of ballroom.

MY HOUSE is a bold new work by the choreographer that celebrates Ballroom Culture, and the familial bonds embedded within the structure of a HOUSE. Bringing the BALL from the runway to the stage, the piece features Voguers from the Canadian Scene, with a local Ballroom Commentator and DJ.

The show runs June 19th – 20th at The Dance Centre (677 Davie St) with a post-show artist talkback June 20th. Purchase tix at www.thedancecentre.ca. Check out the Artists on Insta at 💎
