Our Story

“It all started with the overflowing crates of LPs. Then the boxes of tapes, remember? And then that wall of CDs in the living room. Fela Kuti, Miles Davis, Ry Cooder… they were all there. It was always a house full of music and musicians, pushing on convention.” These were the sounds and impetus for founders and brothers Ciaran and Malcolm Aiken. And so TrebleFive was born: a channel to highlight the best in latin, jazz, and world music from every corner of the world. Original, cutting edge, cross cultural and beyond the borders. Forgotten gems and clever interpretations turning old into new. Music made by artists, played by artists. Established in 2008, TrebleFive operates on a simple philosophy: make living music. Music that is rich and forward thinking content that pushes beyond the boundaries of traditional sounds. We are inspired by the fusion of world beats and rhythms, and driven by a passion to release music that we think you’ll love.
