Side note: my business partner is my husband 😉

We spend way to many hours a week working on our business, so we really try to take off Sundays and Mondays as these are the best/ slowest days for our business for us to be away. Usually that involves us doing quick check-ins in the morning to attend to anything and then we crave balance, spending time in nature.

Here’s 4 wellness non-negotiables as busy small business owners:

1) Quality Time Nature Adventure
Today was Goldstream Falls, we’ve lived in Langford a year and finally went. It was gorgeous! Especially on a Monday, only one other family there that left right after we got there, basically had it to ourselves. Perks of having Mondays off! We try to explore somewhere new together as we are new to Vancouver Island and there is so much to see!

2) Steam/Sauna
We try to go together weekly, but Jesse is much better at going multiple times per week at the gym solo. Having a good sweat resets the stress, removes toxins and makes my acne prone skin much happier.

3) Hot Yoga
I have a membership at our local studio and I try to go 2-3 times per week to a variety of styles of classes, flow, power, pilates, mobility stretch. I spend a lot of time sitting at a desk so I look forward to this in the after work. I prefer to use this class time to transition my day from work flow to evening. It keeps my body in check and I love the intense sweat as I run cold.

4) Walking
I try to walk every work day morning for 20mins before I have breakfast and sit at my desk. I’m much much more productive and awake on the days that I move my body. It makes such a huge difference for me. I am not a morning person and it really helps wake up my brain and body.

Small business ownership is hectic! Make sure you make time to take care of you too! 💫😎

I love the burn more than anything when it comes to nightlife. I hold core memories from 2013 & 2015 that changed the course of my life.

I’ve had a series of financial struggles over the years since 2020 that has affected my ability to spend on attending festivals and travel of this calibre, but I still hope one day to revisit the dust, along with my husband to show him the magic.

I share this because the playa is a special place, one that cracks you open, one that you don’t need to document in the present moment. Of course, take photos and videos, save them for next week when it’s over and you’re reminiscing.

In the meantime, make memories and be present, otherwise you might miss something while your head was down in your phone.

Disconnect to reconnect.

Happy Burn. 🔥

Some thoughts that came to me while I was walking last night.

Vibe Check : Logo Edition!

After a week sick on the couch, I’m feeling excited to get back to business and start creating more content that is inline with my business. Especially with fall just around the corner, I can feel the shift in the seasons already coming.

But summer ain’t over yet!

It’s adventure time 😎 so I wanted to share before I head back out into the woods today in the jeep with Jesse for our belated anniversary trip, albeit a different trip that originally planned, now that I’m feeling better!

This room has brought us so much joy and so much pain in the last 5 years. 🧸❤️🥀🌹

First year building it — construction headaches
Second year operating with joy (and stress) & hosting our wedding
Third to fifth year — fighting for our reputation & financial losses

Osita was a dream come true, and it was gone just as we started to see the fruits of our labour — a thought trustful business partnership gone terribly sour.

We were married, August 20th, 2022. ✨
Yesterday was our 4th wedding anniversary.

We held our reception in this room.
We held each other in this room.
We laughed and we cried in this room.
Our families gathered together for the first time.
Our friends frequented this room.

It’s been 3 years since we last stepped foot in this room. And these photos have been too painful to share.

On August 5-7th, 2026 we spent 3 days in the BC Supreme Court to fight for justice for the loss of our business on Commercial Drive, and now we patiently wait weeks to months for the judges verdict.

This week I was so sick I was hospitalised, letting go of the stress that Osita has caused us has been a mental and physical journey the last two weeks, but also throughout of our entire marriage.

Having to scramble to find a new lawyer only 3 weeks to our court date didn’t help, but in the end was a blessing from the gods.

Not exactly the path we thought we’d be on as newly weds, but one that we worked through together, that made our marriage stronger than ever.

Small business is a wild ride.
Make sure you truly know who you’re signing paperwork with.
Money changes people in awful ways.

In sickness and in health
In business and in life

Jesse, I love you more than yesterday, but not as much as I will tomorrow
