Q4 is here, folks.

But first, a story. During the Apollo 13 incident, engineers “MacGyvered” a speedy lifesaving solution using plastic bags, cardboard, and duct tape. You know the rest.

It’s a great example of extraordinary problem-solving and creative thinking under dire constraints. It was also the theme of our town hall meeting today. We celebrated wins, systems in action, and new projects coming up. Now, how do we adopt a + as we look ahead to 2026 — without drowning in spreadsheets? 🤔

Let’s find out.

How much do customers, investors and staff need to know?

For almost all businesses, a tension exists between privacy and transparency. This line is different for every business, but what’s universal—whether you’re a founder, a CEO-for-hire or a company board navigating generational change—is that you do have a story. What’s harder to answer is the question of who owns that story.

Memoirs are deeply personal, and there are many ways of approaching them.

When we began documenting the life of William H. Tyler - a respected entrepreneur, philanthropist and veteran - he didn’t want a business biography; he wanted a joyful book about growing up in small-town California during World War II.

“Collections & Recollections” celebrates Bill’s experiences through colourful writing, visual hints of the Tyler Family home, and stunning images of his prized mid-century memorabilia. A true testament to memoirs as art forms.

How do you map out a visually compelling corporate history with two missing ingredients:

1. A concrete photo library
2. A tangible product

To fill up our barrel of assets for Wheaton Precious Metals’ 20th anniversary book, it took some creative thinking. We drew inspiration from topographic patterns, key brand elements, data, and rich textural details from partner-provided images. That meant aerial shots of mining operations, eye-catching infographics, landscapes, and of course, the offices and people running the show.

The takeaway? Invest in this content. We don't realize it in the moment, but images and graphics are high-value building blocks for your company’s story capital. When the time comes around, they serve up serious returns. 📸

A slice of history from our city. 🏨

While browsing the Vancouver Public Archives, we stumbled upon some interesting digital records from the 1900s. One of them, a charming postcard featuring the Hotel Vancouver from 1922, and a photograph taken right after the establishment's grand opening in 1939.

Hotel Vancouver dates back to 1888 as the first of many grand hotels that were built and operated across Canada by railroad empires like the Canadian Pacific Railway and Canadian National Railway. It still stands tall today, now as the Fairmont.

A study on streaming 🪙

Earlier this year, we created a book for Wheaton Precious Metals. What better way to mark this metals streaming company's 20th anniversary than by dressing its cover in slivers of gold and silver? Enter foil printing. This is a speciality printing process that uses heat, pressure and metallic paper to embellish various materials with a unique, shiny touch.
