Tomorrow! Don't miss GEMS Reel Talk featuring our Founder and Creative Director Loretta Sarah Todd.

Join us as Loretta shares her journey pioneering Indigenous storytelling in XR and creating space for Indigenous voices in media. You'll hear about what motivated her to start IM4 XR Media Lab and how we developed Coyote Science - a project bringing Indigenous science to kids through innovative storytelling. She'll also share her experiences making her feature film Monkey Beach and how these projects have shaped her approach to blending traditional narratives with emerging technologies.

This is a chance to explore where story, technology, and culture intersect, and how we're blending traditional knowledge with cutting-edge XR technology to amplify Indigenous narratives. Come be part of the conversation about the future of Indigenous media and storytelling innovation.

Background

Indigenous Matriarch 4 Media Lab was brought together by Creative Director Loretta Todd alongside media matriarchs: Cease Wyss, Doreen Manuel, Amethyst First Rider, and Tracey Kim Bonneau. IM4 Media Lab is in partnership with Emily Carr University.

IM4 offers workshops for Indigenous artists, storytellers, producers, media creators, and community members to learn about XR, gain technical training, and develop skills to create their own VR/AR and 360 video production. Our goal is to support Indigenous creators to help build an Indigenous presence in the VR Space.
