We are overflowing with gratitude — to our incredible supporters, our new Nebula members, and of course to our powerhouse team: President & Producer Alice Chee, Stage Director David Walsh, Music Director Wenwen, and Technical Director Lynol Amero.

A huge bravo to our brilliant Carmen cast — some of the most inspiring local singers and actors — and to our tireless tech and creative teams who made the magic happen every show.

In our high school setting of this opera, Don José has been reimagined as a security guard — yet he remains a man torn between duty and desire. 📓🌹

“Don José is a fascinatingly complex character. His journey from an obedient man to one consumed by passion makes the role both demanding and deeply rewarding. Working with stage director David Walsh has opened new perspectives for me, helping uncover greater nuance in the role. In our La Tragédie de Carmen, Micaëla takes on a new role as a nurse — bringing her compassion and courage into a modern setting.

“It’s often forgotten that, in opera, we portray real characters navigating real-life circumstances. David Walsh’s modern reimagining of the work has helped me discover and portray the true emotions and real-life dilemmas that the character of Micaëla experiences.
Equally invaluable has been the opportunity to collaborate with music director Wenwen Du. Her deep understanding of the score, attention to detail, and sensitivity to both music and drama have helped me bring greater depth and nuance to Micaëla’s character.” – Tamar Simon
