The pig’s name is Tater Tot

Dizzy gets along with everybody EXCEPT pigs. Specifically Tater Tot who you’ll see here at Demille’s Farm Market in Salmon Arm. They’ve got 30+ goats, 8 chickens, some llamas, some animals called geep (sheep/goat hybrid!) and more, and you can visit them for free any day of the week.

Wait til I tell you about nearby Armstrong

You’re gonna be tempted to order the tacos the first time you go here but get a plate of enchiladas instead so you get beans and rice and the whole experience, and enjoy the house-made chips. I don’t drink but when I did I enjoyed a few mean margaritas and pina coladas here as well. 🇲🇽

Holy moly that’s a lot but maybe you already knew?

Klemtu BC took hold of a piece of my heart as soon as I arrived here, and as I was leaving a few days later it didn’t let go of it. I’m gonna have to go back and retrieve it at some point, hopefully sooner than later.

I’ve been back from Klemtu BC for a few days now and have been editing videos and photos from my time there slowly, as not to overwhelm the feed with them.

I wish I was still up there because it’s a place that now holds a fairly large piece of my old and now-crumbling heart, and time spent there feels healing.

And yes, I’ve been to Vegas. I stand by my opinion that the BC Ferries ships with state rooms are outfitted in the style of some of the just-off-the-strip hotels that I’ve stayed in, and where you’re encouraged to smoke in.

And if you’re gonna tell me there’s no gambling here, you’re either not looking closely enough or you’ve never traveled this route. ❤️

Cumulative grief is something I’m dealing with right now, as an old friend passed away this week - it was just a few months after another old friend passed away, and a few months before that another. It feels like the death around me is accelerating at an uncomfortable pace.

I never fully processed the tragic story of my grandpa’s life and death, which started in northern BC and ended in the DTES in the 90s. It complicates my feelings for this neighbourhood.

However my grief is tiny in comparison to a lot of peoples who live here, so I figured I’d tell this story first as an apology for things I’ve published about it in the past, and to help raise awareness for this amazing organization doing good here.

See you at the Eastside Rumble. ❤️🌹
