Lest We Forget. Today we remember the victims of all wars: those who died on foreign battlefields and those still dying in the longest war of all, the War on Drugs.
As Canadians wear the red poppy, we honour not only the soldiers who gave their lives for freedom, but also the millions imprisoned, executed, and lost to overdose under prohibitionist policies around the world.
From Afghanistan to Mexico, the Philippines and across Asia, to right here at home (where over 50,000 Canadians have died from toxic drug overdoses since 2016), the Drug War continues to claim lives in silence.
End all wars — including the War on Drugs.
