200,000 Subscribers on YouTube

Getting to 200,000 subscribers has me with mixed feelings considering how fast I got to 100,000 and how long it took to get the next 100,000.

Thanks to everyone who watched one of my videos along the way and you can expect a much more active Channel moving forward as I refocus on the videos I used to do more of.

RF Tube Lasers Offer Sharper Detail, Longer Life, More Power!

If you're like me and were under the impression that CO2 was the top of the line, and that the power of that CO2 was the final verdict on power, then just like me you hadn't heard about RF CO2 Lasers. Time for school!

This miniature painting technique actually had a pretty cool effect on carved leather. But even less of an effect on laser cut and engraved leather because there wasn't as much variation in the depth of the engraving compared to leather carving.

The pattern featured in this build is available on my website always, and on my Patreon for a about a month after the release of this video.

If you run a powerful CO2 laser in an enclosed workshop and can’t safely vent outside, fume extraction stops being optional.

After I made my first set of Mark bracers, a lot of people wanted some. This is a set that I made for Jacomina in the Society for Creative Anachronism. They are for the Order of the Mark, Holders of this award are recognized for significant skills in pre-17th century ranged martial pursuits as practiced in the SCA. This includes target archery, combat archery, equestrian archery, thrown weapons and siege.

It has the Mark Symbol, and a pair of Foxes that are part of her arms.

These were done with a laser, the WeCreat Lumos Ultra which is a dual MOPA and UV Laser that is a very recent release, and I have information down below for it. This specific type of work is what I'm dying to do more of, and this engraving took about 60 minutes and is a bit deeper than the first set I made. The total time is longer with image prep, cutting, hammering and polishing, but all around they're fairly straight forward.

I am tempted to open these up to really anyone soon, with any designs they want on them. They can obviously be done in brass, bronze, copper, I could do rings, bracelets, pouch flaps, all sorts of things. Hit me up.

A new set of SCA combat arm armor finished up the other day in wax hardened black and dark red.

The three-raven design was laser engraved, then painted by hand.

I make custom leather armor, and I also sell the patterns for anyone who wants to make their own.
