xʷnaʔəlməxʷ sχəχi:ls, the Journal of First People’s Writing (JFPW) is an open access, student-run and peer-reviewed undergraduate journal published by students at the University of British Columbia. As a decolonial and open-access publication JFPW is committed to centering Indigenous voices and to making undergraduate publication more accessible to students producing work in the multi-disciplinary

field of Indigenous studies. The journal aims to bring visibility to the importance and value of Indigenous voices and studies in the academy. We encourage academic and creative submissions from a broad range of sources, including essays, reviews, reflections, poetry, stories, and art. Oppressive or essentializing content will not be accepted.
