I don’t think people truly understand how heavy the childcare struggle is until they’re living it. It nearly broke us at one point.
The cost. The waitlists. The guilt of wanting to stay home but knowing it wasn’t financially possible—especially with the rising cost of living.
What hit me hardest was realizing we weren’t alone. I have so many mom friends who went through (or are still going through) the exact same struggle. Different families, Same stress. Same impossible choices.
We found different ways to make it work, because we had no choice. But something like $10-a-day childcare would have changed everything. It would’ve been a lifesaver. A game-changer. Breathing room we desperately needed. And The kind of support that changes the entire path of a family.
BC promised affordable childcare by 2028—and parents are holding them to it. This isn’t politics. This is real life for real families.
