I’ve always been a big fan of Mel Gibson as an actor and have had a lot of respect for his work.
But seeing the way he allegedly mocked a sign language interpreter really upset and disappointed me. 😔 As a Deaf person, this is not something I can simply see as a joke. Sign language interpreters play an important role in communication and accessibility, and they deserve respect.
Honestly, I never expected this from Mel Gibson. Even though he later apologized, I personally don’t accept the apology. The impact of what happened still matters, and an apology doesn’t automatically erase the hurt or disappointment caused by the behavior.
I can still appreciate his work as an actor, but my view of him as a person has changed. Sometimes, someone’s actions can change the way we see them forever.

2026 has been brutal. So many familiar faces and voices have been lost this year, and seeing them together really puts into perspective just how much entertainment history disappeared in such a short time.

From beloved actors like Catherine O’Hara, James Van Der Beek, Eric Dane, Sam Neill and Hayden Panettiere to music legends like Dolly Parton, the losses have crossed generations, genres and completely different corners of pop culture.

Dolly Parton’s death at 80 was followed almost immediately by the loss of Tim Curry at the same age, making the final days of August especially difficult.

Each of them left behind characters, songs, performances and memories that millions of people grew up with, which is why seeing so many names disappear in one year feels especially heavy.

I really hate 2026. It feels like every few weeks another piece of the entertainment world we grew up with is gone.

Tim Curry has sadly passed away at the age of 80. 💔
Curry became a cultural icon with his unforgettable portrayal of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and later terrified audiences as Pennywise in the 1990 adaptation of Stephen King’s It.
He also appeared in Home Alone 2, Annie, and The Hunt for Red October, leaving behind an extraordinary career spanning film, television, and theater.
Rest in peace, Tim. 🕊️

Two years ago, I took another step in my artistic journey. 🎭✨
This was my first Technique I acting exercise. Acting, for me, is not only about playing a character—it’s also about exploring emotions, connecting with personal experiences, and discovering new parts of myself.
Looking back at this moment from two years ago, I’m proud that I stepped outside of my comfort zone and challenged myself with something new. Every experience is part of learning and growing as an artist. ❤️
A big thank you to Jade Bryan for the guidance, encouragement, and support. 🙏
