Marc, our resident mechanic helped out a member of our cfmoto community today. ( CFMOTO owner group).

2022 CFMOTO CFORCE 1000:
Owner’s complaint: Engine stalls while in use for more than 20-30 minutes in hot weather.

First thinking it was an evap issue but the recall reflash was done so a fuel pressure test with engine running with a clean 48 psi. That’s where the dealer stopped and seemed stumped. Marc connected an inline fuel pressure gauge and let it idle for 20 minutes and the engine died.

Cause: faulty fuel pump operating in high heat shuts down. Let it cool down and it starts pumping again.

There is no replacement for a proper diagnostic. Throwing parts at a machine with an intermittent issue is not only costly for the owner but will only lead to people losing faith in a brand / dealership.

Segway Powersports changes distributor for the third time in a few years. Third time is a charm?

What's different this time? Well first and foremost, this time, Segway Powersports found a partner that has over a decade of solid experience in the ATV / UTV market in Demon Powersports.

Our take:

Demon as an established Canadian brand should be able to pull this off with their level of experience and brand recognition. This should be a no brainer as Segway is currently on a roll in the USA with the introduction of the Super Villain, it's flagship ultra high performance UTV boasting serious horsepower numbers and a possible hybrid version pushing over 300 hp that should be released soon.

We have driven / ridden most of Segway's offerings in the last couple of years and we think the machines are solid enough to compete with the only Chinese brand that has had success in America, CFMOTO and eventually the big two ( Can-Am / Polaris).

Will the brand survive the damage caused to the dealers and owners in Canada by the two previous distributors? This is a huge hurdle that Demon Powersports will have to cross..

Let's see where they take the Segway Brand in the coming months.

Future news: A patent has been filed for a fully electric ATV from Can-Am Off-Road. UTV Driver magazine said the drivetrain is lifted from the Pulse electric motorcycles that were launched earlier this year.
