Awakenings

We have moved through the Solstice gateway into Cancer season. Do not be surprised if you become aware of emotions surfacing around particular issues. When the Sun is at its height, we enter into the inner world of the emotions, as the Sun travels through cardinal water.

Today we have a T-square aspect in the sky, with Jupiter coming to oppose Pluto, squared by the Moon newly in Scorpio. This aspect is about determination. When you rise to the challenge and overcome emotional obstacles, you will reap the rewards of your endeavours.

Jupiter is moving into exact opposition with Pluto, between now and mid July. Jupiter, the mighty benific, will enter Leo, the sign of the sovereign heart, on June 30. This is a HUGE transit. Jupiter will magnify the qualities of Leo, which at best are regal, dignified, sovereign, playful, theatrical, creative, magnanimous, and heart centred. It will also shine a spotlight on where people have the need to be right, to be the centre of attention, to operate from ego, and create drama of the lower kind.

The Jupiter Pluto opposition is about DETERMINATION. Whatever you dream of doing, feels buoyant within you, like a rose ready to bloom. Whatever obstacles appear in your path, will only make you more determined to succeed. This aspect nasally causes people to dig deep into their power, and succeed against all odds.

As the Moon moves through Scorpio in the next couple of days, take some time to reflect on what emotional currents need to be navigated and mastered, and where your shadow wants to take control.

The Summer Solstice on the 21st of June 2026 marks a turning point as the Sun moves into Cancer, shifting the focus from gathering information and staying busy to nurturing what truly matters. Cancer encourages us to pay attention to home, family, emotional wellbeing, and the foundations that support our lives. At the same time, a supportive influence creates an opportunity to strengthen self-worth and build greater stability through practical acts of self-care. However, there is also a tension between what needs attention emotionally and the endless list of tasks, responsibilities, or improvements that may be demanding our focus.

What can be avoided during this time is becoming so preoccupied with fixing problems that what is already working is overlooked. A tendency towards analysis, organisation, and perfectionism may be heightened, yet not everything can be solved through effort alone. Care should be taken to avoid excessive overthinking, self-criticism, or placing everyone else's needs ahead of our own. Equally, emotional needs should not be dismissed as unproductive. If a sense of being stretched thin is present, it may be offering valuable information rather than something to be ignored.

This is an excellent time for the foundations of our lives to be strengthened in simple but meaningful ways. Greater security can be created through improving routines, caring for health, spending time with loved ones, or making practical decisions that support long-term wellbeing. Healing is more likely to come through consistency than dramatic breakthroughs. Small acts of self-respect and self-care can have a surprisingly powerful effect now. As the Sun reaches its highest point in the sky, this Solstice reminds us that growth is not only about reaching further; it is also about putting down stronger roots. The more care that is invested in our foundations now, the more confidently the changes and opportunities of the months ahead can be navigated.

SUN ENTERS CANCER ~ FIRST QUARTER MOON IN LIBRA BLESSINGS

Sun enters Cancer and sextile Chiron in Ta**us. First Quarter Moon in Libra – Merry solstice to all those celebrating. Whether midsummer or midwinter, the sun is the star of the show. Give thanks for the light. Know that you belong in this great human family. We are making history in these hours, stories we will pass from soul to soul, century to century.

Let’s make them stories of light, of the wise teachings that came from pain, of the unbreakable bonds made through our struggles. The emphasis is on finding a sense of place and a sense of peace. SOLSTICE BLESSINGS

Happy Summer solstice from Glastonbury Tor where cheering was heard as the sun came up. It was very busy, very vibrant and a fabulous way to welcome the longest day. I took lots and lots of photos but here is the first one. More to follow later.
