Ever wonder why we say blonde might take multiple appointments?

This photo is exactly why.

What you're seeing isn't just one layer of colour.
It's months or years of colour overlap.

🤎 New growth lifts the easiest because it's virgin hair. No artificial pigments.

🤎 The middle section has multiple layers of colour on it. Every application leaves behind pigment, making it progressively harder to lighten.

🤎 The ends have the most history—and the most staining. They've been coloured over the most times, so they often hold onto artificial pigment no matter how many times we lighten.

Lightener can remove natural pigment, but artificial colour doesn't remove the same way. Once colour is packed into the hair, it has to be lifted gradually while protecting the integrity of the hair. It almost always produces strong red-orange tones that can only be covered by brunette shades.

Could I push harder?
Absolutely.

But I'd rather leave you with healthy hair than hair that's blonde for a week and breaking off the next.

Healthy blondes are built with a plan.

For the brunettes who want something to happen when the light hits.

Still rich. Still brunette. Just broken up with enough light to give the colour movement, contrast and a little more interest.

The lighter pieces are intentionally concentrated through the mids and ends while plenty of depth is left behind. This gives that vacation vibe without turning the entire result blonde.

It also means a softer, more lived-in grow-out than taking colour all the way to the root.

Basically: brunette, but with significantly better lighting. 😉

Your colour shouldn’t suddenly become a problem when your roots grow in.
