The Emerging Storyteller Fund is World Elephant Day’s new $300,000 initiative to discover, mentor, and amplify young voices across Africa and Asia who are telling powerful, original stories about elephants. By equipping these filmmakers, writers, and artists with training, tools, and a global platform, the Fund helps shift hearts, minds, and policies — ensuring elephants are not just remembered, but protected for generations to come.

This World Elephant Day, August 12, help us make a difference. We are at risk of losing not just elephants, but the memory systems they carry — the matriarchs who know ancient migratory routes, who pass on survival skills, who remember where the water lies buried in times of drought. Losing a matriarch is like burning a library. And in a world full of noise, we need new voices. We need storytellers who know the terrain — ecological, cultural, emotional — and who can connect with global audiences in fresh, authentic ways.
