Live for Righteousness, all you his faithful ones! Yes, Christ bore our sins in his body on the cross, but we should also *die* to sin ourselves, and *live* for righteousness!
1 Peter 2:24
βHe himself bore our sinsβ in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; βby his wounds you have been healed.β
He died not only for the sin of mankind, but that we might have life through the Spirit. He was not just talking about our eternal life, that we might be saved, but the here and now, this life we live now, too.
We are to walk in a newness of life. We are to live for him and have him live through us.
We are to live in accordance with the Spirit and have our minds set on what the Spirit desires, not in the satisfying of our fleshly desires.
For "those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires".
"Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God."
"The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace."
We live in the "realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you."
I have posted along with other scriptures, Romans 8:1-17. Some of you may know this passage well. Others may not. I implore you all to read it again. Read it slowly and carefully. Absorb what the Spirit says to you. Hear the Spirit's counsel.
I pray for you all this week that you might dwell on the things of God. I pray that you may live for him and have your minds set on what the Spirit desires in your life, not what the flesh desires. This might mean some hard changes in your life.
Do you live every day to seek out what the flesh wants?
Or do you seek the Spirit's counsel, and seek out what the Spirit's desire is for you at the beginning of your day?
Yes, we must also take care of our physical bodies, clothe it, wash it, feed it and also take care of the needs of our families and loved ones.
But these earthly bodies we dwell in temporarily, they are an extension of the body of Christ on this earth.
Your hands are his hands to further his kingdom.
Your eyes are his eyes to see where you can bring his light to others around you.
Your words in your mouth are meant to bring praise to him and to glorify him.
So we should be careful how we speak and what we say to others as it should be a reflection of him.
"Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt..." Colossians 4:6
Your minutes and days are his to fulfill his purpose in your life.
You are not your own. You were bought at a price. The price of the blood of Christ.
"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
So please, remember all you his faithful ones: Yes, Christ died for our sins, as we should also "die" to sin, and **Live for RIGHTEOUSNESS**. ππΌπ€ππΌππΌβπ©Έ

Romans 8:1-17
Life Through the Spirit
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering.
And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to Godβs law, nor can it do so.
Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.
But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
** Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligationβbut it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. **
For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, βAbba, Father.β
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are Godβs children.
Now if we are children, then we are heirsβheirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Amen and Amen. ππΌπ€ππΌπβπ©Έ
