Autostrada Magazine

Autostrada Magazine We focus on the passion, history and journey of people within our local automotive community. We are enthusiasts, we are drivers, we are Autostrada Forum.

The passion, history & journey. These are the three pillars upon which we founded Autostrada Forum. As lifetime car enthusiasts we are constantly captivated by stories our friends and clients share with us when discussing their passion. Whether at a car show, race track, cruise, or simply in the garage, the emotion these rolling pieces of art create run deep within us all. Our mission is to captur

e the passionate people behind these local stories, all while having our readers in the passenger seat. The premier issue includes several of the incredibly supportive businesses and owners we have met over the years in the local automotive community. Every advertiser you see in this magazine has put their trust and support behind our vision. We arrived in their office with passion and an idea and the results are finally in your hands. Please reach out to these reputable local companies for more information about their unique services and products, we are happy to connect our network of passionate individuals. A special thank you to Robert Herjavec who is the first cover feature for our new magazine. His passion for anything automotive shines through in all aspects of his life; he is a gear head in the purest form. As we continue on our journey with Autostrada we welcome any and all feedback from our readers. This is a project for enthusiasts by enthusiasts. We look forward to having you part of the team to help create something significant and distinctive. Stay tuned for more home grown content from our passionate group of contributors and please contact us if you know of an individual or event that might define the Autostrada vision. Porsche colour designer sat down with elle alder to discuss the inspiration and process behind some of the brand’s most distinctive paintwork.

“We don’t have extremely sharp exteriors or super sharp lines, [so] we need colors that shape our cars a bit. What is great on our brand is that we can use solid colors and they still look good because [of their] soft shape. It gives a kind of form, it still looks elegant and also plastic.”

Today, we hosted our second Autostrada Magazine Charity Track Day of the season in support of Ronald McDonald House South Central Ontario. Using our shared passion for automobiles to give back has always been at the core of what we do.

RMH’s mission is to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children require care at nearby hospitals. It’s an organization that makes a profound difference for countless families throughout our community, and we are proud to support their important work.

With the weather calling for a 100% chance of rain we were pleasantly surprised with sunny skies and a full day of dry laps at Toronto Motorsports Park.

As always, our longtime friends at Livia's Food Truck | Restaurant Quality At Every Event kept everyone well fed with a fantastic lunch, along with delicious speducci and desserts served throughout the day. We are incredibly grateful for your support and for always taking such great care of us and our guests.

A big thank you to Ken forbes for bringing his espresso setup all the way from Whitby to keep everyone fuelled in the morning as well.

We’ll be hosting one Charity Track Day each month through September, and we’d love to have you join us. If you’re interested in attending, please let us know.

Time claims a lot. Sometimes, if we’re lucky, we get it back.

After nearly four decades, Ken McCarl revisited the project that defined his youth—not to recreate it exactly, but to build it the way he always imagined he could. The result is Buzz Saw 2.0, a rolling reminder that experience has a way of sharpening old ideas.

Franco Chirichella is not chasing factory-correct finishes or matching-numbers prestige.

“I’m certainly not concours level,” he says. The interior of his 1972 Alfa Romeo GTV in particular has drawn comments from Alfa purists. “Things that true Alfa purists cringe at. You should see some of the comments I get on Instagram.”

But that’s not what they’re for. “These are driving cars. I won’t drive them in the rain or anything like that, but I drive them, and I drive them with spirit.”

“A look at her CV shows that four-wheel racing clearly suited Price. She raced everything, from King of the Hammers rock crawling, to side-by-sides, to Stadium Super Trucks and Trophy Trucks, in all kinds of series big and small. In took a few years of rising through the ranks, but the victories began to stack up. Price won the Sonora Rally, and took class victories at prestigious desert races including the Mint 400, NORRA 1000, and Baja 500 to name just a few.”

Often referred to as the “Canadian Rat Fink,” Ron Gibbs has made a career of fine lines.

Pinstriping—the art of running a thin, animal-hair brush down the side of a car with machine-like precision—has become a cornerstone of automotive customization. And there is nobody better than Gibbs.
