This spring, one of Bellemare Records founders and all-around great guy, Sam Weber, grabbed a van, his guitars, and some friends and headed out on a 51 day cross-Canada tour. Though we miss him dearly, it has been thrilling to watch him impress and captivate crowds across the nation.

From small Maritime towns to Toronto's Canadian Music Week, Sam Weber and his crew are a new breed of road warrior and this passion for real-life connections and the importance of the adventure is so present in his work. His music is confident, propulsive, dark, and complex. It's no coincidence that his debut album, "Shadows in the Road" makes you want to get in your car and drive forever.

This Sunday, with open arms, we welcome Sam, Hugh, and Marshall back to the West Coast. Be a part of this incredible occasion at Guilt & Company on June 6th. Doors at 8:00pm, cover by donation.

June will be a very exciting month for the boys of Hawk and Steel. Not only will they will be releasing their much-anticipated new album "Anywhere But Here" in just a few short weeks, but they have also been awarded the illustrious title of The Zone at 91-3's Band of the Month.

In April, our dear friends Hawk and Steel announced the release of their sophomore album and we could not be more excited for them. With a June 23rd release date, "Anywhere But Here" promises to impress with their usual blend of heartfelt and heartbreaking lyrics and honest guitar-driven Canadian prairie vibes.

The incredible photographs and album art say a lot about the new record. The washed-out colours and suggestions of transience are the perfect introduction to the themes that wind their way through. "Anywhere But Here" makes you feel like you're in motion - to a place, away from a place - and in both cases is the starting point for a greater conversation about the affects of those places on your lives.

Join us in the crowd at Logan's Pub on Friday, June 12th to celebrate the launch of their new album, with support from Morning Show and the Whiskey Sisters. We'll be the ones shouting encouragement and compliments from the back.

In February, the Bellemare Records crew had the pleasure of attending the Song & Surf Music Festival in Port Renfrew. Put on by the lovely team from Tall Tree Music Festival, Song & Surf is a truly unique musical gathering with an undeniable sense of community. It's hard to know whether it's the misty, west-coast mornings, the lack of cell reception, the incredible line-up, or all the new friends and connections that make Song & Surf so special, but we do know that the time we spent there was pure magic.

The weekend was full of highlights, but a couple to share with you: the mesmerizing talent of Luca Fogale, the happy reunion with BMR001 friends Hawk and Steel, the epic dance party for Bocce Avocado, Betty and Kora and their "No Bad Times" mandate, the amazing in-ground, beach-front, home-made hot tub from the boys at ANIÁN, and so very much more.

Big thanks to the Tall Tree team for having us. If you missed out on Song & Surf make sure you don't make the same mistake next year.

Sometimes, a first post after a long break can feel like the most perfect stretch after a long nap. With a cup of fresh coffee in hand, and the spring-time sun streaming in, we here at Bellemare Records are excited and glad to be back.

2014 was a banner year for us here at Bellemare Records. We released our first record, we had a wicked launch party, and we were so grateful to have you there with us at the beginning of our wild adventure.

We are very excited for what the new year has in store and we are very excited to share it with you. Stay tuned, dear friends, and Happy New Year!

On August 8th, we put all our cards on the table and officially launched the Bellemare Records Singles Club and released BMR001. To everyone that attended, heartfelt thanks for your support.
