Tellwell author Maurice E. Jones has been named a 2025 finalist for Author of the Year at the International Impact Book Awards!📚🌟

Maurice wrote his children’s book "What Can I Be?" to encourage young readers to reach their goals and fulfill their dreams. He believes every child has hidden gems within themselves and that when children are nurtured, loved, taught, and cared for, they can achieve anything beyond their wildest dreams. His story also highlights the important role teachers play in the growth and development of every child. Above all, his message is simple: be inspired and keep believing.

Born and raised in Detroit, Maurice is a certified chef, poet, and writer who grew up in the Detroit public school system and was raised by a single parent. Inspired by his mother and his love of reading, he began writing poetry, short stories, and children’s books as a teenager.

His children’s book inspires young readers to believe in themselves, dream big, and value the love, guidance, and support of teachers. All in all, Maurice combines his passion for storytelling with giving back—supporting causes like Children’s Hospital of Michigan, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Susan B. Komen—continuing to uplift and inspire his community. 🌍✨
