Tonk discovers "singing" bears. He of course, knows bears well, having maybe...16 of them in his closet? First time he has heard a peep out of any of them. We think he liked them. !

The two big bosses at PPP. Both "older", but both still as...wonderful! She made me (Kelly) type that.

Info on our skijoring harness. Another detail that was not mentioned in the video, is the resistance to forward motion of the skier. The harness being "fixed" along the girth line provides that. Lastly, and again, there is minimal discomfort with this design, and they are not "painful" for the horse.

Time flies, as did Tonk! Well, for a short bit he did! Supertonk's 2.6 million view video from 2017. Ten years we have been making harness, and helping folks from all over the world get skijoring. We think ten years of happy comfortable horses sort of speaks volumes. If you are looking for "the right" equipment with knowledge behind it, you came to the right place.

We will be making some new videos as soon as we can - but this one, from 2017 shares the "reasoning" of our system choice. Will say again, in ten years, and multiple hundreds of rigs - not ONE person has been dragged or injured in any way due to "being connected to" the horse. The use of the word "dangerous" might stem from a lack of understanding. Next video will be about the harness itself, as the "D" word has actually been used to describe the harness now too!! OIY.

More info on the system. More to come.

Still working away on orders, though yes, a little behind. This video is from November of 2017. I guess everything old becomes new again. The recent discussions and comments regarding "attaching yourself to the horse", came up in the first year we began making this rigging. When I (Kelly) first skijored in 2013, I used a belt with a quick release snap between the traces, and my belt - but when I did my one and only fall, I immediately realized it might be just a tad tricky to be able to release the snap - so though not rocket science - we devised a way to put a wrist tether onto said snap. In ten years, and hundreds, and hundreds, and more hundreds of skijoring rigs all over the world, NOT ONE person has ever been dragged by "being attached" to their horse with this system. Not one. When one falls, the arms flail - tether comes tight, snap releases.

Just in case someone might need an ST approved Christmas outfit - these three are available. The big boss needs room in his outfit closet, and the other big boss needs "justification" for making an all new one for this Christmas. Message the page!

Our Story

We are, Patty’s Pony Place. We began our business in 2011 with imported carts and harnesses. In March of 2012, Kelly designed and built his first carriage, and he has continued from that point on to introduce more ingenuity into the design of miniature horse carts and carriages than has been seen in the industry for a very long time. His traditional knowledge of horses, combined with his knowledge of suspension, and basic safety concepts, were all key to what he builds. He developed knock-down shafts for safe winter sledding - bolt-on suspensions for steel EE carts, I (Patty) have taken the lines on many fronts - learning upholstery in short order, manning the website and the now, three FB pages I have. I have done all the photography, and videography for the past three years now, and a bit of a designer in my own right, creating some pretty fun outfits for my Tonk, and developing a skijoring harness that has led to all sorts of wonderful things, including almost four million video views. We have both been working with horses for the greater part of our lives - Kelly with many years with draft horses, learning from the men who had worked with them all of their lives. Myself, flat racing as a youth, gymkhana, and pleasure riding, and spending 10 years learning all I could about the Tellington-Jones Equine Awareness Method - then learning how to drive from Kelly. Our history is traditional knowledge - that is also our “credentials” - along with our innate respect of the horse, and the “joy” aspect of having them in our lives. These two things are the base of what we design, and what we promote. Traditional knowledge - the laws of physics as pertaining to the working ability of the horse, and finally, to help people develop a calm, rational approach to driving.
