The Review-Mirror will be retracting the entire article titled Rideau Lakes Council in Brief dated July 1, 2026. The article will be replaced in its entirety in the July 8, 2026 edition in order to correct inconsistencies.

As to the Veto article, and the paragraph referring to a report by staff — it was determined that this information was incorrectly placed in the article due to a copy error. Other inconsistencies in the article are being corrected with strict language in line with the proceedings and official outcomes.

To Our Readership: These errors were not made with any malicious intent and are a result of a small staff working diligently under strict time constraints and a strict budget. Efforts are underway to fully correct the situation.

Big changes are coming to Westport politics ahead of the 2026 municipal election.

🗳️Marty Crapper has filed for re-election as councillor.
🗳️ Barry Card is also seeking re-election as councillor.
🗳️ Joe Aragona has announced his candidacy for mayor.

And in one of the biggest announcements of the election season, longtime Mayor Robin Jones has announced she will not seek re-election.
