Nah Ho Productions is a family owned film production company based in Whitehorse, Yukon. Allan Code is a jack of all trades when it comes to filmmaking. He has done it all from research, writing, interviews, directing, producing cinematography, still photography, sound, lighting and editing. Beginning in the 1970s, Allan's life's work has focused on the people, landscapes and wildlife of what is
now known as northern Canada. Allan and his wife Mary Code have been working together on documenting Indigenous realities across Northern Canada for decades. Her peoples traditional territory is in the far north of Manitoba and the southern interior region of Nunavut. She is fluent in both Denesułine yatiye (Chipewyan Dene) and English. She has conducted research, interviews, writing, directing and translation for a variety of social documentaries including 'Nu Ho Ni Yeh- Our Story' (about the forced relocation of the Sayisi Dene and the tragic impacts it has had on her people). Mary has also produced animations like 'Adaygooay' and 'When Water Covered The Earth' which tell ancient Dene stories of when humans and animals could still speak to one another. Their son Mike Code is a cinematographer with a particular skill for flying drones. He also does sound, lighting and editing. Allan and Mary's daughter Angela also writes, directs, produces and works with her mom on translation. Angela is also keen on archiving all of Nah Ho's recorded collections, digitizing all material including the scanning of all photographs and providing access to relevant material to community members. Nah Ho Productions has worked with/for many unique individuals, First Nations, production companies and broadcasters. Nah Ho films have been showcased within local to international filmfestivals and has received numerous awards over the years. For more information, please contact Allan Code at
