At CKRW The Rush, we thrive on team building and creativity all within a positive work environment. As the Traffic Coordinator and Office Administrator, you would be an integral part of the radio station’s operation. You would be responsible for entering & organizing commercials, answering phones, and taking payments all while being the first face the public sees when they walk in the door.

This position is between 25-30 hours per week (Monday – Friday).

EVACUATION ORDER: Old Crow

August 9, 2023 - 1:45 p.m.

The Government of Yukon is supporting the Vuntut Gwitchin Government’s evacuation order for Old Crow. This order is due to forecasted weather and potential wildfire activity.

What you should do:

- Shut off all gas and electrical appliances, other than refrigerators
and freezers.
- Close all windows and doors.
- Close gates and latch, but do not lock.
- Gather family/household.
- Take critical items (purse/wallet, cash, medicine, keys,
identification, important documents).
- Bring pets in kennels or on a leash.

Monitor local news sources and www.Yukon.ca/emergencies for information.

Evacuees should register with Emergency Support Services:

Fire crews and emergency personnel continue to fight the Talbot Creek Fire near the Village of Mayo

Emergency Support Service (ESS) is ready to accept Yukoners at the Canada Games Centre (CGC) who have evacuated from Mayo. The reception centre and group lodging is located at the CGC in Whitehorse.

If you have evacuated, please phone 867-332-4597 to speak with an ESS team member about supports available to you.

The Talbot Creek fire (MA-033) that triggered today's evacuation of Mayo is now 4,000 hectares in size and about 4.5 kilometres from Mayo.

Ash has been seen falling in Mayo and spot fires are visible ahead of the fire. Crews are patrolling the town for spot fires while ignition opportunities are being assessed.

Site protection was set up at the Na-Cho Nyak Dun Village. Mechanical guard west of C6 subdivision was completed this morning; progress was made on guard work near the airport subdivision.

Over 40 personnel, 2 air-tanker groups and 4 helicopters were assigned to the response today.
