Marquee, a calendar of arts and cultural events in the Yukon:
It's music festival time again.
Both the Paradise Music Festival and the Keno City Music Festival are set for this weekend.
Paradise is the annual electronic music festival.
It's a 19 plus event at Kettley's Canyon, south of Whitehorse.
Plus there'll be workshops too.
It looks like tickets are sold out but check paradisemusicfestival.ca.
And this year's Keno City Music Festival is set for tomorrow and Saturday.
It begins tomorrow at noon.
It's a free festival with The Whiskeyjacks on the bill, along with Sophie Noel, Duke and Peacemakers and many others.

William Prince is coming back up to the Yukon.
He's playing Dawson City at the Palace Grand Theatre on Saturday night.

Q***r Yukon is hosting the 10th annual Pride Festival.
As part of that, Mo Kenney is coming back up to the territory.
Kenney will be playing the arts centre on Tuesday night, for a cabaret style concert on the stage.

Mo Kenney will be in Dawson City on August 10th at KIAC Dënäkär Zho.
The pride festival is set for Whitehorse, August 5-13.

MacBride Museum and Velvet Antler Productions present: Roundhouse Cabaret on Wednesdays and Thursdays until September 14.
It's a sultry 1940's variety cabaret that's taking place the rest of the summer at the historical Roundhouse on the Whitehorse Waterfront across the MacBride Museum.
Expect an evening of live music and dancing.
This show is intended for adult audiences ages 16 and up.
Doors open at 6:30pm. The show starts at 7pm.

Kluane Park artist in residence Teagyn Aatagwéix'i Vallevand's next workshop is coming up this weekend.
Participants will make a beaded mountain cuff this Saturday at the Thechàl Dhâl' Visitor Centre, at Sheep Mountain.

In Carcross, there' music on the deck of the historic Caribou Hotel this summer.
Performances take place on Saturday afternoons from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.
Kevin Barr will play this Saturday.
Everyone 19 and older is welcome to attend.

The next Cafe des Voix event is coming up this weekend in Atlin.
Singers Telek Rogan, Caroline Watt, Jean Langlois, Dave Haddock and Corinne Montpetit will be on stage at the Globe Theatre along with MC/vocalist Elaine Schiman, pianist Annie Avery and bassist Anne Turner.
That's this Saturday at 8pm.

Join artist Neil Graham for a tour of his solo exhibit, The Nahanni.
That's next week... Wednesday, August 9th at 7pm.
That's in the Yukon Arts Centre Gallery.
While you're there, you can see Suzanne Paleczny's show The Forgetting.
And the Chilkoot Connections exhibit is showing in the centre's Community Gallery.
It features traditional and contemporary art inspired by the Chilkoot Trail.
It's a collaboration between the Arts Centre, Parks Canada, Yukon and the Carcross/Tagish First Nation.

This week at Yukon Artists at Work:
Nicole Bauberger will be demonstrating the art of creating hand made books.
She'll be working in the window today from 11am-2pm.
Leslie Leong will reach back into her personal art history to undertake a series of detailed illustration-style drawings.
She'll be working in the windown on Saturday from 2 to 4pm.

Yukon Artists at Work presented its trashion fashion show last weekend.
Twelve artists created more than 20 outfits that were modelled during a runway-style show at Shipyards Park.
All of the outfits were created using discarded or recycled materials.
If you missed the show, or if you just want to see the art pieces close up, you have a chance to do that.
Many of the outfits will be on display throughout August at FREE SPACE in the Northern Front Studio on 2nd Ave.
There'll be an opening reception tomorrow evening from 5-7 pm.

The highly anticipated Oppenheimer opens today Friday.
During World War II, Physicist J Robert Oppenheimer and a team of scientists joined the top-secret Manhattan Project.
Their work led to the development of the atomic bomb.
It's playing daily with Saturday and Sunday matinees.
