Stumbled into .plus.vintage and found the cutest vending machine !

For only $4 you can support local artists and one of the coolest art projects I’ve ever seen!

(This was filmed after I blacked out and hit my head last year and ya boy is just getting around to editing it now🫣 that’s why my eye looks like I got punched in the face lmao)

needs our help!

The Windsor Youth Centre is a youth specific program of the Downtown Mission supporting youth ages 16–29 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

By creating a space separate from adult shelter services, the WYC provides young people with support, stability and community during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

The WYC does not receive direct government funding and continues to exist because of the generous support from community members who choose to step up and support at risk youth.

📍1247 Wyandotte St. E.
🕓 Drop-in hours: Monday-Saturday 4PM-9PM

Services include:
🥘 Daily hot meals
🪥 Food, hygiene products & clothing
👕 Laundry services by appointment
🖥️ Computer, internet & printing access
📚 Mini library
📝 Homework help, job applications & intakes
🏠 System navigation, referrals & case management with a focus on housing supports

WYC also offers programs like peer support groups, GSA programming, wellness recovery, emotional regulation groups, recreation activities and family support through Gen WYC for young parents and children.

Their community garden gives opportunities to grow food, learn about nutrition, planting and cooking using ingredients grown on site.

Last Christmas, the WYC even supported over 80 youth through sponsorships, gifts, toys, clothing and household item donations.

If you are able, please consider donating.

Any donations are always appreciated, these are items that are actively needed:

Monetary donations
Hygiene products
Snack foods & canned goods
Season appropriate clothing
Art therapy supplies & games
Household items

⚠️
Tim Hortons & McDonald’s gift cards - these gift cards can go a long way for those experiencing homelessness to get access to air conditioned or heated buildings year round.

If you want to support local youth directly, this is one of the places making a real impact in our community.

.glow dm’d me and asked if I wanted a facial at 3am.

I’m obviously not a beauty influencer so idk if this is the type of reel he wanted to feature his services but this is the type of reel he got!

🧼 I asked Elvis what he did to my face so you know what to ask for and he also added unsolicited commentary about my horrible skin:

🧽 A double cleanse (it needed it bad)

🧪 Enzyme treatment (it’s chocolate)

🪏 Extractions (those poor pores were clogged af)

❄️ A nice soothing mask with my icy balls (you were getting a lil heated so I need to simmer you down)

✨Then finishing products (at least one of us got to finish 🤧🙄)

Treatment took about 1.5hrs give or take with filming. My skin after the appointment is actually the best it’s ever looked and my mom complimented it so that’s how you know it worked.

Would definitely go back, 10/10 yap session and my skin has never felt better.

Super grateful for the opportunity to organize a community conversation this week inspired by Community in Colours community display, which explored the meaning of community support through artistic expression.

This conversation was an extension of the display, highlighting how support takes different forms depending on the unique needs of diverse individuals and communities.

The panel brought together three Executive Directors from charities in the Windsor-Essex region. Bringing perspectives from diverse areas of focus, this conversation explored how their organizations support our local community, the needs they’re addressing, and how the community can support their work.

Huge thank you to the speakers for participating and for all they do for our community & to the community for showing up and learning with us!

Moderated by Sanjay Maru - CTV News (.jay.maru)

Becky Parent - Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters Windsor Essex ()

Rukshini Ponniah-Goulin - Executive Director of Downtown Mission ()
