Allow me to introduce myself...
My name is Kyla Hookey and I am an RMT with over 10 years of experience in the field. I have been a member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, as well as a member of the Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario, since 2009. Over the years of practice I have expanded my knowledge and skill-set to meet the demands of my patients, and have found a particular interest in myofascial and deep tissue work. Understanding that every body is different and needs vary, I am in tune with the styles of massage and variations in pressure applied to create your ideal treatment.
Whether you prefer to unwind by conversing or by being completely silent, I am accustomed to letting you lead to experience the most comfortable atmosphere possible.
I am experienced in treating common conditions such as such as strains, sprains, headaches, migraines, trigger points, scoliosis, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, IT Band Syndrome, edema, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injuries, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, TMJ Dysfunction and many more. I also offer relaxing, yet therapeutic services year round such as Indie Head Massage and Thai Stem Hot Compress which can be applied to the body or the face. I offer Hot Stone Massage seasonally from October until May, during the colder months as it heats the room as well as the body.
I have safely and effectively massaged children as young as seven years of age, and adults up to the age of ninety. I also have years of experience performing prenatal and postnatal massage using safe, comfortable and effective positioning using the standard body pillow for side lying positions.
For the first five years of my career, I worked at the Jefferson location East Windsor Massage Therapy Clinic, then relocated to the Barrie area for two years. While in Barrie, I was fortunate to work alongside a variety of health professionals such as Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists, Athletic Therapists and Naturopathic Doctors, which furthered my experience and skills. Understanding the need to assist aging family members, I have since moved back to Windsor and it is my pleasure to work again for the East Windsor Massage Therapy Clinic at the Wyandotte Street Location. This transition has helped take my career to the next level, in part by offering more hours for your convenience. I welcome my long-time patients and gladly accept new referrals as well.
