Here is what you might have missed ➡️ The newest Instagram updates that have popped up over the last few months include

👎🏽private downvotes on comments
By clicking the down arrow on someone's comment, it will indicate that you do not agree with them. This is a strictly private feature, no one other than the author of the comment will see that you downvoted it.

📍location world map
Instead of the location tag bringing you to the exact location, it now opens a world map, which shows you all location tagged posts of the people you follow. This is great for event season, reaching a more global audience, and targeting people new to your area.

🫂 blended reels
This lets Instagram curate a blended reels feed between you and a friend of your choosing. As business owners, this will be helpful to reach more like minded individuals. Focus on creating shareable reels to increase chances of appearing in both feeds.

The term 'hook' in social media marketing is defined as 'a captivating element designed to immediately grab the attention of your audience and entice them to engage with your content.'

Commonly, a hook would be found at the beginning of your caption, but you can't forget about another extremely valuable hook location.

❗ Make sure your graphic carousels and videos also include a hook.

Your first two carousel graphics should be designed with attention-grabbing hooks that encourage your audience to scroll through to the very end.

When it comes to videos the first 3 seconds are the deciding factor as to whether someone will watch until the end or swipe past.

A good hook ensures your audience's attention is captured for the entirety of their viewing experience.

Having a strategic hook that alerts your audience of more information to come in your caption as well as in the digital asset of your post provides you with multiple opportunities to create a post that converts!

I've got my eye on this, do you as well? 👀Instagram's newest update now shows your post views directly on your feed.

No more digging into your analytics to see which posts are performing better than others.

At one glance you can now analyze whether trendy reels, graphic carousels, or behind the scenes snapshots are resonating with your audience best.

➡️ One thing to note is that this is a 'for your eyes only' feature except on your reels tab. To turn off view counts anytime visit your settings tab.

This client was none other than Gardenland Co-op (formerly known as Winkler Co-op).

As an established community centered business, at that point one-man marketing team, needed support navigating the social media landscape.

In my opinion, if you're not batch creating then you're wasting valuable time that could be focused on other important tasks of your business.

Just like most social media marketing related tasks this also comes with certain pros and cons.

❌ it can get overwhelming pressuring yourself into having to get everything done in one sitting
❌ you have to find time in your schedule to dedicate one entire day to it (or at least a few hours)
❌ you might miss out on last-minute trends that emerge later on

✅ it helps you stay organized and consistent
✅ you will have everything done in one day (or even just a few hours!) giving you the freedom to clear your remaining schedule from content creation
✅it is flexible and allows for trending content to be added later-on

Although posting consistently as a business on social media is important, it will only fulfill your goals if your posts are created with intentions.

Before you post a photo, reel, or story ask yourself this question
"What do I want this post to achieve❓"

➡️ Do you want to educated your audience on your products or services?

➡️ Do you want to promote a new product or service and encourage sales?

➡️ Do you want to entertain your audience and make them laugh?

Knowing why you are posting will help you structure the post correctly, balance your content pillars in your social media strategy, and properly convey your intentions to you audience.

It will also make it easier to analyze if the posts is working as you will know which insights to focus on.

But as for November, it started with a weekend getaway to Phoenix, followed by client work, and getting into the Christmas spirit.

Incoming truth bomb 💣👇🏽

You can't expect instant amazing results when it comes to social media marketing.

❌ you won't go viral with your first post
❌ followers don't equal sales
❌ social media isn't just about posting pretty content

✅ Lower your expectations, analyze, and strategize.
✅ Post content your target audience can relate to and solve their problems.
✅ Interact with your target audience and create a community setting.

Share this with a business owner who has unrealistic expectations when it comes to social media marketing 😅

Do you set New Year's Resolutions? Get a head start on your 2025 goals early to increase the chances of actually following through with them!

When it comes to social media marketing related goals, here are 3️⃣ tips to help you ⤵️

1️⃣ Plan your content - research trends, organize your content pillars, and stay organized by using a content calendar

2️⃣ Batch create - sit down once a week for a few hours, create content for the upcoming week, and schedule it. Trust me this one will save you longterm!

3️⃣ Don't overthink it - obsessing over vanity metrics and comparing yourself to others won't get you anywhere on social media, instead be yourself and you will attract the right kind of audience.

When it's quiet on my account, it's because I'm busy. I'm busy focusing on my clients' social media marketing strategies, content calendars, and analytics goals.

During busy periods, my account takes a backseat while my clients become my #1 priority. Their success equals my success!

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the light bulbs go off for social media consulting clients and seeing leads come in to social media management client's accounts.
