“We’re home,” announced as they kicked off the final set of their Western Canada tour. This showcase by their label, , featured support from label-mates Julien's Daughter and Virgo Rising.

The set was highlighted by the iconic stage presence of and the bass face of ._ , alongside what Amos claims was the loosest and most comfortable performance he has had on stage to date.

Their performance was filled with a real sense of gratitude and community, with Amos giving thanks to the band, label, crew, venue, and fans numerous times throughout the hour-long set.

The crowd fueled this sense of community, dancing, jumping, and singing along to every song. Winnipeg was treated to two brand new songs that were written during the tour, as well as an eeeelectric three-song encore to finish out the night.

attended last night’s showcase that featured a stacked local lineup including Virgo Rising and Julien's Daughter as the opener and middle act.

opened the night with their sway-inducing songwriting. This was their first show since their Vampyre Year EP release in October 2023 at the Good Will Social Club. Despite an adorable hiccup involving a capo, the band was met with immense support from the crowd, who sang along to their evocative lyrics and cheered enthusiastically for the debut of a brand new song.

took the stage next, putting on a high-energy and dynamic performance as always. Lead singer .cubicles did not disappoint, displaying her passionate and animated stage presence throughout the set. Julien's Daughter also debuted a brand new song, but in a bittersweet moment, the band announced that this would be their last show with guitarist

Both acts brought unique flavors to the night, showcasing the sonic diversity on the House of Wonders label.

Kicking off a west coast tour graced the WECC with a visually beautiful and sonically encapsulating set to debut their third full-length album ‘Someday is Today.’ The all ages show brought a room full of new and familiar faces to the room of the rotating stallion, only further solidifying the main-stay power of the local dreampop outfit.

Living Hour is a project of seasoned music lovers and practiced performers who have crafted an extremely thoughtful and entrancing show. It requires a very special nuance to have such a high quality performance come across as effortless, and Living Hour has it locked in. The depth within the simplicities, the heart-wrench lyricism, the ebbs and flows of harmonies, crescendoing melodies, and full out rock moments provide a full body wash of experience that can be described as blissful, comforting, captivating, and exciting. Additional accompanying musicians allowed for those special album moments to come across which is especially exciting for a crowd of fans and particularly lovely for a release show.

We can’t wait to see them again soon and we wish LH a happy tour!

We just so happened to spontaneously be at the Jaywood show with enough of the PaperCut team to bring you some sweet sweet content.

The “Slingshot” album release show was everything we dreamed of. As frequenters of “Slingshot”, it was so fun to finally see our favourite songs in action. With bits a pieces of our favourite local bands (and teasing a few new ones) Jaywood is a pocket of fantastic players, it’s impossible to pick a favourite. Just when you thought the bass was sneaking up as star of the show the drums would come through hard, followed by a quick tricky guitar riff and a smooth and entertaining transition on the keys. The band works so well together which effortlessly sets the background for Jaywood to shine and for the audience to let loose. It’s great to see Jaywood in a nighttime headlining spot where they belong! Show highlights include a surprise guest appearance of vocalist and incredible solo artist Ami Cheon and the adoration of the audience holding up “Thank” “You” signs during Jaywoods tune of the same name. We can’t wait to watch this project go up and up and hope you can see them sometime soon!

Local shows local shows! We love to see it.

We got to check out one of our favourites this past weekend and, as always, they killed it. SDTW live shows are something special, remixing their own songs from Polaris Prize longlister Studies in Grey with added elements show their consistent evolution as artists and top tier performers. Teasing a new album in the works, they dropped some provocative new verses that indicate their success will only continue to grow. With showcases overseas and national accolades, cats out of the bag on Winnipeg’s best kept secret. Best band in the city, trust us.

Like SDTW always says “tell six friends to tell six friends.”

Hey friends, we're back ☀️

Jared chats with The Prairie Joggers about their new self titled EP on the blog this week.

Check it out and stay tuned for for some fresh cuts coming soon! ✌️

The Prairie Joggers self titled EP is the soundtrack to your (albeit short) prairie road trip. Lead singer Cody Goertzen and drummer Adam Hill penned and produced four tracks that are distinctly tied to part of their name: The Prairie. Part blues, part rock, and even a touch of country; their sound....
