I learned a new word this week: ๐ณ๐ฎ๐๐ฝ๐ฎ.
A Mennonite pause between lunch and dinner.
Pickles, cheese, homemade buns, jam. Coffee or tea. Simple food, meant for togetherness.
What stayed with me most is when it shows up: sometimes after a funeral, in a church basement, when people donโt need a performanceโฆ they need a table.
It made me think about our own versions of this.
Merienda. Coffee and pan de sal. The unspoken โcome sitโ moment.
