Whenever I see someone’s comments filled with conversation, I get jell-o.

In my eyes, your post can't get much better than having created so much conversation and engagement. That’s the good stuff.

But how do you create posts that convert into engagement?

One thing you can try is sharing relatable thoughts in your captions. People like to voice their opinions and it is a great way to try and get the conversation going.

Don’t forget your strong CTA 💪. Asking your audience to share their wins, experience, or even tagging another account.

What’s the difference between gaining a follower and gaining a community member?

The first thing you’ll notice is that community members engage and supply feedback while a follower will just sit in the corner.

Your community members will be the ones that attend events and promote your services.

The goal with social media engagement should be to gain relationships not just followers.

Is there actual value in starting a group chat for your business?

Managing a group chat can seem like just another thing you need to do now on top of everything else.

But just like any other new thing you start, you should look at the pros and cons.

Pros:
☑️It can be a great place to keep your target audience engaged while maintaining a sense of exclusivity and community.

Cons:
❌Without a clear path can quickly become noisy and another space that drains your energy.

If you’re interested in starting one, I’d recommend starting small and focusing on building your local connections.

If you have ever heard that you just need more followers, you were misinformed.

The thing with a high follower count is that it doesn’t always mean high engagement.

Socialish sat down with a business owner who had over 10k followers on Instagram but couldn’t seem to get their numbers up on Facebook.

We asked them what (if anything) they were doing differently on Facebook as opposed to Instagram.

We came to the conclusion that the difference between her Instagram activity and Facebook activity was her engagement habits!

Once she was able to develop a deeper connection with the community that she already had on Facebook, she slowly started to see those numbers shift. ✨

So, how can you start doing this?

1. Start listening 👂

Ask questions, DM people back and open the door to real conversations.

2. Make it personal.

Sharing stories that the reader can relate to and showcasing personality behind your brand is gold.

3. Create value.

Posting with the intention of helping your audience and not just promoting yourself will help the algorithm push out your content and extend your reach.
