Thank you to everyone who helped bring Patches and Petunia home🥰
Patches has fully recovered from his castration, thank you to for your amazing care as always❤️❤️❤️

It’s been a whirl wind weekend at our Little Red Barn Sanctuary and we haven’t had a chance to catch our breath! Once again we successfully completed our large Battery Caged Hen Rescue! While worrying about the horse auction and saving two beautiful brothers, we also successfully negotiated the freedom of hundreds of hens and two roosters just like Gerry and Kramar!
More to follow, in the meantime we are desperately working to get lifetime homes for everyone and settle everyone in. We are so grateful for everyone who donated to save Rye and Coke from auction. If you missed that opportunity, please consider a donation for feed and possible vet care for our newest Residents🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓
Please donate to [email protected] by PayPal or etransfer with message “Save Hens”
At the moment we are on the road delivering some of the individuals to their new homes 🏠 🐓💚🫶

Well I think it’s safe to say she loved all her treats! Can you think of any other snacks for her to try?
Polly is adjusting amazing to her new home and has already made friends with one of our ponies Dakota💕💕
Thank you again to everyone who donated for her rescue🫶

Polly is home 🏡 💞
Heartfelt Thanks to everyone who donated to save Polly and bring her to Sanctuary.
We can’t wait to spoil Polly and make her more comfortable from her past life of servitude. Her back end is worse than we first thought; she is presenting like shivers or springhalt. Hard to say until our vet team assesses her past injuries❤️‍🩹
We raised an incredible $1625 just short of our $2500 target for her rescue and vet care but our incredible supporters always come through for our special Residents and we are so grateful for all the support🙏🥰
Donations for Polly’s upcoming vet care by PayPal or etransfer to [email protected]
Thank you!!!

Please HELP🙏‼️
UPDATE-We remain $1225 short for our rescue of Amish mare Polly. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far for Polly🥰🫶🙏
May is auction month💔and it’s always heartbreaking with all the horses in need. After the heartbreak of losing so many of our senior Residents last year, we decided it was time to help another soul. Thanks to our friend Jenny who has Amish connections, we need your help to give frail Polly, an elderly Standardbred mare a new home at our Little Red Barn Sanctuary. With her failing health, there are no other options for her💔💔

Polly was born into the Standardbred race industry and raced for three years about 20 years ago. The pin firing on her legs is evidence of her young body being strained. (Pin firing is strongly opposed by the Canadian Veterinarian Medical Association)
At the end of their “career” many Standardbreds who no longer fulfil the speed etc for racing are bought at auction by the Amish for buggy horses as they are already broke to the cart. And so Polly became a buggy horse for 18 years until her body gave out. Horses like Polly usually end up one place but fortunately, this is where you can help. Donations for Polly will give her a chance to live no longer as a number tattooed on her neck, but as someone who deserves to live their own life freely.
Sadly, Polly is going to need urgent veterinary care to figure out what is happening with her back end and legs. We don’t have a lot of information at this time but we do know we have to act. We hope we can help her live the retirement she deserves.
We are fundraising $2500 for Polly. One generous donor will match up to $500

Please share if you can, or donate to [email protected] by etransfer or PayPal. Every dollar adds up💞💞
Thank you LRB family for helping us not only save lives, but also to provide quality life for our Residents💓

Please donate to save Polly‼️
Auction season is here and there are countless horses is need! Polly is a 21 year old standard bred who has lived an incredibly difficult and painful life💔
For the first three years of her life Polly was a race horse until she was sold to the Amish where she pulled buggies for the last 18 years🥺
She is very sore with many scars and we are hoping to give her the retirement she deserves so she will no longer be enslaved💔💔💔
We are hoping to raise $2500!!! Please donate by e transfer or pay pal to [email protected]
Every donation helps❤️‍🩹
Even right before her gastroscopy and colonoscopy Colleen was still only worried about trying to raise money to save this beautiful girl💓
