The Seventh Journey

Final Fantasy 7 was my first RPG, my parents got me the game for Christmas, along with the strategy guide. My favourite memories are of my big sister reading out instructions from the game guide. (As close to 2 player as most old school RPGs get.)

These isometric journey art pieces take weeks of work to paint, it’s almost like working on a small book. Dozens of characters, locations, and lots of moments hidden within. So it better be of something that means a lot to you- Final Fantasy 7 falls deep into that category for me.

Pokémon celebrates it's 30th anniversary!!!

The sound of waves wakes you from a deep sleep. You stand on a beach, groggy and confused. Faint memories of a boat and a storm fade from your mind as you gawk at the structure in front of you, and the Pokémon covering it.

You stumble forward a few steps and see that there’s a weathered sign.

“Hello travellers! My name was Prof Evergreen, and if you're reading this, I am no longer here to help you, but I’ve spent years finding Pokémon to help new adventurers survive the dangerous areas ahead.

The Pokemon ahead are dangerous, undocumented, and always battle in groups of THREE working together as a team, do not venture out without at least THREE Pokémon companions to fight together in your party! Pick ones that will get along and complement each other in battle!

"The Very Best Street"

I have been reading and re-reading a lot of Golden Book Sesame Street books lately, which inspired this particular piece of art.

The client for this piece especially loves the "Cooke Monster and the Cookie Tree" (he can barely walk and only knows two words, so communication on this project has been a mess)

Sesame Street has such a rich past, I watched often in the early 90s, and it's been great re-discovering to the world, learning more about it's long history while chipping away on the project.

I know I likely am missing some peoples favourite characters- can't include everyone, but did my best to fill the street with lots of fun things to look at and find. Hope you enjoy!

The first print of this will be a canvas on my kiddos/the clients wall. Hope he enjoys as well.
