The first stage was an EP released less than two weeks ago, and Stage Two is a new album -- "To The Great Monolith III: Rifts" -- that will be released by Sentient Ruin Laboratories next month. Crushing riffs are paired with well-placed keyboards and melodic lead guitar, adding depth without taking away any aggression. Six tracks of cosmic death metal from a band whose work deserves renewed attention. First time on vinyl.

BLOOD CHARIOT – CHARIOT OF BLOOD 7″

Blood Chariot’s debut EP is a two-song blast of raw black/death metal with a strong psychedelic edge. Harsh vocals, aggressive riffing, and pounding drums are paired with well-crafted synth arrangements and strong melodic passages. A short but potent debut from this Portland, Maine project, a member of the Hidden Dawn collective.

CITRINITAS – UNENDING DESCENT 7"

Citrinitas’ Unending Descent is a three-song, 13-minute recording of bleak and decaying death, doom, and outsider black metal. The layered guitars and murky production give the EP a claustrophobic, unsettling atmosphere. A mysterious debut from this Finnish project, with little known about the entity or entities behind it.
