We’re thrilled to share that our upcoming feature film, A Year Without Sun, has been selected as one of three projects receiving support through Telefilm Canada’s $5 million big-budget Production Program stream.
A huge thank you to Telefilm Canada for this investment in Canadian storytelling, and congratulations to the other incredible teams whose films were also selected. We can’t wait to bring this story to audiences.
Today, we are announcing an investment of $5 million for three feature-length films from the English market, through the Production Program's the big-budget stream.
Finality of Dusk features a talented ensemble of actors and creatives, each playing a key role in bringing the story to life.
Cherrel Bergen – Plays Niife, a Nigerian climate refugee who teams up with Ishkode to survive in a toxic, post-apocalyptic world.
Marika Sila – Plays Ishkode, a survivor who forms an alliance with Niife in the fight to endure.
Chris Dodd – Plays Odin, a Deaf man who tracks survivors for their protective masks.
Katarina Ziervogel – Co-writer of the film, shaping the story and dialogue alongside Madison Thomas.
Madison Thomas – Director and co-writer, responsible for the overall creative vision, storytelling, and bringing the world of Finality of Dusk to the screen.

Eagle Vision is excited to welcome a creative filmmaker from the 2025 CBC New Indigenous Voices program, presented by the National Screen Institute - Canada (NSI).
Junior Whitefish will be joining us for a two-week internship, bringing his unique voice and perspective to the team. We look forward to seeing his ideas in action and supporting his creative growth throughout his time with us.
