Today, April 15, is National Canadian Film Day, presented by REEL CANADA, with thousands of free screenings happening across Canada and around the world, plus plenty of ways to watch from home.

Here’s a quick guide to celebrating 🍁🎬

1. Find and attend a local Canadian Film Day screening in Manitoba
2. Check what’s airing on broadcast, with plenty of Manitoba-made films in the mix
3. Stream a Canadian film from home, including many made right here in Manitoba
4. See a Canadian film in theatres (there's 'Hunting Matthew Nichols', a new indie horror feature from Winnipeg-born filmmaker Markian Tarasiuk).

In Manitoba, the Manitoba Documentary Archive is joining the celebration with an online screening of Guy Maddin: Waiting for Twilight on YouTube, a documentary about the making of Twilight of the Ice Nymphs and Maddin’s lasting impact on Canadian cinema.

The archive is also spotlighting more locally made work today, including Closing Time: The Vanishing Prairie Beverage Room (2017), premiering at 5:30 p.m.
