Goodbye Rocky, little buddy. Thanks for everything.
Dealing with this heartache as best I can -
Rocky was with my kids’ entire lives and a third of mine and my better half’s. He was a big member of our family despite his mere 4 pounds (after a good meal!)
I’m just going through to find all of his cameos and dedicated videos. Here’s his first and final moment on Whisky Whistle.
He loved us so much. We will never stop.

Double distillation is the standard for single malt whisky the world over, with triple distillation common in Ireland and in a few distilleries either exclusively or as an occasional style.
Bruichladdich has unveiled a quadruple distilled 18 year old - is this something you should be looking out for?
What happens to the distillate? You get less lighter or heavier alcohols and other “congeners”; you get closer to a pure heart; you’ll get more “congeners” that come with the heart.
Another way of thinking of it is, it would be not unreasonable to consider it similar to a column distilled single malt with just 4 plates and maxing out at 85% abv.
Will it be similar, say, to Loch Lomond’s malted barley single grain whisky, just longer aged?
