🌅 MORNING LIGHT - NOVEMBER 4, 2025 🌅

☀️ For the first time in its history, will be hosting its hall of fame inductions in Winnipeg, and for the occasion, they will induct several of the city’s dancing luminaires, including , founder Rachel Browne, and longtime artistic director Arnold Spohr. Another legendary Winnipeg dance figure, , will accept the award on Spohr’s behalf, and she joined us for an extended conversation.

☀️ ’ new book is a journey through the classical music year illustrated by flow charts, recipes, and anecdotes. The celebrated broadcaster and performer joined us to talk about “Tom Allen’s Classical Musick Almynack”, the illustrations provided by and bringing history’s most venerated musicians to life with their humanity.

☀️ The ’s 55 plus program starts this week with a wide range of courses, including an exploration of the concerto genre. Instructor Dietrich Bartel joined us in studio to give us a preview and to further dissect the relationship of composer, ensemble and soloist.

☀️ The Canadian Art Song Project has produced an animated short film called “The Piece Atop His Pate”, using the art of Jocelyn Morlock and Bill Richardson and the animations of to share a story of an infamous moment in the history of the Winnipeg Jets and one of the biggest stars in its history. Co-artistic director Lawrence Wiliford told us more about the project.

☀️ The International Cello Festival of Canada begins in earnest today across Winnipeg with unique collaborations and performances.
