Growing up in Benin City, Edo State, I witnessed the tragic effects of cultism firsthand. Many young people, full of potential, were cut down in their prime by the relentless violence that accompanies cult activities. It became clear to me that although cultism is a critical issue affecting our society, there is a troubling lack of action from those in positions of power. Alarmingly, some government officials and even traditional rulers are themselves entangled in these cult networks, which only deepens the crisis.

The church, which should be a beacon of hope and moral guidance, often fails to address this issue directly. Cultists are frequently ostracized rather than being offered the support and redemption they desperately need. This exclusion only exacerbates the problem, driving young people further towards these dangerous affiliations, as there seems to be nowhere else to turn for community and identity.

I wrote this book, "Cultism - The Monster Killing the Nigerian Dream," because I believe that preventing young people from joining these groups is crucial. The key to this prevention is awareness and early intervention, guiding our youth towards positive paths and values rooted in Christ before they can be drawn into the violent folds of cultism. This book aims to shine a light on the dark corners of cultism, exposing its ills and offering a way out through faith and community support.

My vision is to see this book in the hands of every young person, especially new students entering tertiary institutions, where cultism often finds fertile ground to grow. By arming our youth with knowledge and fostering a strong moral foundation, we can fight to reclaim the future of our nation from the grip of cultism. This is not just a book; it's a call to action for all of us to stand up, speak out, and save the next generation.

While the book is currently selling on Amazon, we are seeking local sponsors in Nigeria to help publish it locally and, if possible, distribute it freely to reach as many young people as possible. If you are interested in being part of this vital mission, please send an email to [email protected]. Together, we can make a significant impact and help turn the tide against cultism in Nigeria.
