🪑 The chair isn't the person sitting in it.
Whether it's the Captain's Chair in Star Trek, the Oval Office, or the Prime Minister's residence—institutions carry meaning beyond whoever temporarily occupies them.
We've lost the ability to separate criticism of how someone performs in office from personal attacks. And that collapse is eroding our capacity for accountability, professionalism, and civic culture itself.
You don't have to respect the person to respect the institution. Understanding that distinction isn't optional if we want functional institutions to survive.
