This morning, something happened that blew my mind and made me realize how absolutely WILD it is to be a social media content creator.

Last spring, I connected with another content creator (Hunter Kozak) without realizing who he was. We had a brief conversation in the DMs, and I watched some of his content, but I never connected the dots...

This morning, he posted a video, and that's what woke me up to who he actually is: he is the young man who asked Charlie Kirk his final question. He is the last person to speak to CK before everything changed.

I immediately had one of those "Oh my god" moments, realizing how wild being a social media content creator actually is, and how many interesting people it connects me to... A privilege I don't always realize the full weight of.

Hunter released a video today, on the anniversary of CK's death, chronicling the harassment he has faced from conspiracy theorists in the last year.

Friends, life has a wicked sense of humor... The timing, for me, could not have been more significant.

For the past week, I've been fielding a fresh wave of anonymous posts about me. Most of the people engaging, I've never actually met... I don't know them. And the handful I do know? We're not friends. They don't actually know me. They just think they do.

I'm used to this by now. I can shake it off before my coffee gets cold... And it's nothing compared to what Hunter has faced, I'm sure... but the timing of realizing who he is, and watching his video essay this morning, could not have been more significant for me.

My week of internet nonsense is not his year of navigating something unimaginable. There's no equivalence, and I won't pretend there is.
..But I sat with his video a long time this morning. A regular guy, refusing to be rewritten by strangers who need a story more than they need the truth. And I thought about how the universe has a way of placing people in our path... sometimes months before we understand why.

Sometimes exactly when we need to remember that someone else's steadiness, even when we watch from afar, can hold us up, too.

I would encourage anyone to watch Hunter's video on YouTube... It has truly been a fascinating, and eye-opening story.

A year ago Kathy came to me needing a website that actually worked for her business, not just one that looked nice.

We built her a site and set up email marketing to keep her existing clients engaged and coming back, because retention is just as important as new bookings.

Summer's usually a slower season for her... but this August we knocked it out of the park. Existing clients were calling in to add more services, upgrade to multiple body parts, book bigger packages. I was thrilled to get this message from her at the end of the month.. "I can't tell you how popular this month's specials are... Jade, you're killing it with the ads. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

A year of consistent strategy behind the scenes, and this is what it looks like when it clicks.

This is the whole job, honestly.

Thanks for being a rockstar client for a whole year now, Kathy! 🥰

Working silly hours today because I can, and because nobody's schedule owns mine anymore.

That's not a humble brag, I actually don't love hustle culture... It's about the fact that for a long time, I built my life around other people's expectations of when and how I should be working, living, existing.

Now I build websites at 6am if I feel like it and take Tuesday afternoons off if I don't. That's the actual prize. Not the follower count, not the revenue... Just the ownership of my own time.

I actually build this into my contract now. I love working with new clients to expand their web presence the *right* way... But I set my own hours, and when someone says "jump" I no longer as "how high?" .... instead, I say "Okay- I'll have that jump completed by 2pm on Tuesday" 🤣

New financial disclosures show OnlyFans' late owner received over $700 million in dividends in the months before he died. The company posted $715M in pre-tax profit on $1.6B in revenue. Run by a staff of 47 people.

I've lost count of how many "page managers" I've met who talk about running a roster of OnlyFans models like it's a smart little side hustle they thought of all by themselves... a clever, unique business idea.

But strip away the smirk and it's just old math with a new platform: s*x workers carrying all the exposure, all the risk... and someone else carries the spreadsheet and the fattened wallet.

And here's what I need women to hear: this isn't unique to OnlyFans. This is just the version with the receipts.

The same math often runs quietly through regular businesses too. There are many industries built on women’s labor, with someone else sitting at the top collecting the money.

This is why women have to be fiercely committed to protecting ourselves in business... even when it costs us being liked. Even when we get labelled bitchy, shrewd or otherwise unpleasant..

We're not being bitchy. We're just intelligent enough to know exactly who our labor is building wealth for, and refusing to be the labor in someone else's profit margin.

…Following somebody and consuming their free content does not give you ownership over their ambition.

Your budget does not determine the value of another woman's business.

I priced my book too low when it came out. Multiple people, people I trust, told me to raise it.. And in the same breath, other people complained the price was too high.

I watched a video today by NiKol Johnson and she made some stellar points that I haven't stopped thinking about since...

Nobody else gets to dictate what an entrepreneur creates or what they charge.

And you definitely don't get to dictate how far they're allowed to evolve. If something isn't for you, you simply don't buy it. You not being able to afford it does not automatically mean it's overpriced.

It doesn't make the creator dishonest. It doesn't make the business undeserving of success.

The people in the comments aren't risking their savings. They're not developing a product or building a brand with their name attached to it. It is extremely easy to critique a woman from the sidelines. It takes real courage to build something and put your name, your reputation, your money, and your brand behind it.

You can't tell a woman to dream bigger and then punish her the second she does. You don't have to buy what she made.… But you also don't get to shrink her for making it.

So build it anyway. Price it like you mean it, put your name on it, and let the people on the sidelines stay there. Every woman who's ever done something worth talking about had critics before she had customers. Be her anyway.

Same video. Three platforms. Wildly different outcomes.

I posted this on TikTok and Facebook first... barely a blip. Reposted to Instagram and it's sitting at over half a million views, 26.1K shares, and I'm up almost 400 followers in just a couple days.

This is exactly why I tell people not to put all their eggs in one platform's basket. You genuinely cannot predict where something is gonna take off, and if I'd only been building on TikTok, this moment doesn't happen for me at all.

Being a highly visible person has its ups and downs, I won't pretend otherwise. But moments like this are a real reminder that social media has handed me opportunities that no other career path could've. 💕

5 years ago today. This is one of my first tiktoks ever 🫣🤣

Funny thing is… I was homeless at the time. I did have a roof over my head, but I wasn’t actually supposed to be there. I did not have a place to call my own, and I was living in a constant state of stress wondering if I would lose custody of my children because I couldn’t keep a roof over their heads.

At the point I recorded this, I was deeply considering doing onlyfans. I was terrified, but I knew that if I was going to make it someday, I had to do something drastic to make sure the bills were paid.

If anybody had looked at me at this point and told me I was going to go viral a whole bunch of times, and in five years be releasing my first book… I don’t know if I would’ve believed them 🫣

Gentle reminder to never give up on yourself 💕

Every photo in this book is my own photography.

"Secrets of a Former S*x Worker" came out of an era of my life where I was making really tough decisions just to survive... and somehow, 3 years later, I'm holding it and realizing I spun that whole era into gold. Not the mistake everyone assumes it was. Potentially one of the greatest things I've ever done for myself.

I don't know how it'll sell. I don't know how it'll be critiqued. Some people won't get past the title, and that's fine.

But I'm proud of myself for continuing to survive as a single mom, doing whatever it took to keep the bills paid, and never letting society's opinion of what s*x work is or should be hold me back 🙄

This book is mine. All of it.... and I'm so excited to share it with you. 🥰
