๐ŸŒ SWahili: A Language That Could Help Unite Africa?

๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฟ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฌ SWahili is one of Africaโ€™s most widely spoken languages, with more than 200 million speakers across Africa and beyond.

Recognized as an official language of the African Union, Swahili serves as a major lingua franca across East and Central Africa, particularly in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, and neighbouring countries.

But Swahili represents more than communicationโ€”it carries African history, culture, identity, and shared heritage across national borders.

If Africa were ever to achieve deeper political and economic integration, Swahili could emerge as a strong candidate for a common continental language.

A language spoken across borders could become more than a means of communicationโ€”it could become a powerful symbol of African unity and a shared continental identity.

๐ŸŒ One Africa. Shared Identity. Shared Voice.

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ท ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฏ ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ ERITREAN COMPANY SECURES $50 MILLION IFC LOAN FOR MAJOR AFRICAN PROJECTS,

Asmara Holdings, also known as Enda-Anseba, an Eritrean-owned company with business operations across Africa, has secured a $50 million loan from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to support two major projects in Djibouti and Zambia.

The planned investments include:

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฏ Djibouti: Construction of a large-scale grain warehouse at the Damerjog Industrial Free Zone.

๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฒ Zambia: Development of the planned Hilton Lusaka Pyramid Hotel, a Hilton-branded hospitality project in Lusaka, which is the construction work is underway.

The combined cost of the two projects is estimated at $97 million, with the remaining $47 million reportedly being provided directly by Asmara Holdings.

Asmara Holdings is a Dubai-based commercial enterprise owned by the Eritrean Woldeselassie (Anseba) family. The company has established business interests in several African countries, including Angola, Zambia, and South Sudan.

In Juba, South Sudan, the company owns the Pyramid Hotel, described as one of the country's largest hotels. In Zambia, it also has interests in hospitality, construction, and manufacturing, including Zebra Manufacturing Limited.

The developments highlight the growing role of Eritrean-owned businesses in major trade, logistics, construction, and hospitality investments across Africa.

Donโ€™t confuse slow progress with failure.

This is something business has taught me repeatedly.

Some things take longer than we expect. A project can take years. A relationship may take time to build. A market may take time to understand. A business may need several iterations before finding the right formula.

We live in a world that celebrates speed, but not everything valuable happens quickly.

Sometimes slow progress is still progress.

The important thing is to keep moving, keep learning, and keep improving.

Donโ€™t abandon a good vision simply because the journey is taking longer than you expected.

Stay the course.
