🚨🇺🇬 POLICE ARREST SUSPECT IN ALLEGED ONLINE TOURISM FRAUD,

Uganda Police have arrested Faisal Kimuli, whom authorities identify as a prime suspect in an alleged online fraud scheme targeting foreign tourists through a purported car-hire and tour company, FK Car Rental.

According to police, the investigation began after a Russian tourist reported on 16 August 2026 that he had paid USD 2,215 for a vehicle that was never delivered. The company’s website was subsequently taken offline and its listed contact numbers became unreachable.

Police say further complaints revealed a similar pattern involving online platforms advertising gorilla permits, safaris and 4x4 vehicle hire.

Investigators allege that the suspect:
• Used professionally designed advertisements and photographs with genuine tourists to create an appearance of legitimacy.
• Operated under several identities, including “Becky,” “Kim Quinn” and “Habimana Samuel.”
• Offered tourism services at prices allegedly well below market rates.
• Requested advance payments through mobile money and bank transfers, primarily via WhatsApp.
• Frequently changed telephone numbers, devices, accounts and websites, allegedly to evade detection.

Police say Kimuli was traced and arrested on 2 October 2026. Investigations remain ongoing to determine the full extent of the alleged fraud, identify additional victims and possible accomplices, and trace and recover funds.

⚠️ Police advice to tourists: Verify tourism operators before making payments. Tourists seeking gorilla permits are advised to obtain them directly through the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) or use tourism operators licensed by the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB).

Anyone who believes they may have been affected is encouraged to report to Katwe Police Station or the nearest police station.

🚨 MULTIPLE STANDARDS: How Abiy Ahmed’s Narrative on Eritrean Forces Is Coming Back to Haunt Him,

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s shifting public statements regarding Eritrean troops are raising serious questions about consistency, credibility, and political rhetoric in the Horn of Africa.

📌 The Original Narrative (March 2021)

When details of Eritrea’s involvement in the 2020 Tigray War came to light, PM Abiy Ahmed told MPs and the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) that Eritrean forces had crossed the border purely out of self-defense—to prevent the conflict from spilling into Eritrean territory and guard against potential attacks.

📌 The Current Shift

Fast forward to today: PM Abiy is now raising accusations about Eritrean military presence along the Tigray border.
This sharp pivot forces critical questions:

🔹 What actually changed?
🔹 If border security was a valid justification then, why is it denied now?

📌 The Irony & Double Standard

If preventing border spillover was a legitimate raison d'être in 2021, that same logic applies even more urgently today—especially as the Abiy regime aggressively rattles sabres and threatens access to the Eritrean port of Assab.

You cannot cite national security concerns to justify border movements in 2021, only to decry those same security posture concerns when your own government escalates rhetoric against a neighbor.

This contradiction is catching up to the regime, and the record speaks for itself.
