Sometimes you don’t need somebody to carry you to the water. You just need somebody on the sidelines yelling, “KEEP GOING! YOU’RE ALMOST THERE!” 👍🏾🐢

When in doubt, “whose broad stripes and bright stars” with your whole chest. 😭🇺🇸

I asked my son one question before his first trip to the United States that most parents probably never have to think about.

It wasn’t:
- Did you pack everything?
- Do you know where you’re staying?
- Do you have enough money?

It was: Who’s going with you?

More specifically…
If something happens, which of your friends will speak up?

The question wasn’t whether they cared about him. It was whether they’d protect him if micro-aggression, prejudice, racism showed up.

Because racism doesn’t only make headlines or in the feed. It also lives in the everyday moments people excuse:

• The joke nobody challenges.
• The stereotype everyone lets slide.
• The silence after someone says something harmful.

As a Black woman, I still think about this when I build friendships and professional relationships with people who don’t look like me.

I want to know they’ve done enough of the work to recognize racism when it happens—and that they’ll speak up, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Allyship isn’t something you post. It’s something people experience from you.

So I’ll leave you with this:

If racism happened in your friend group, an event, at work, or in front of you tomorrow… would the people around you speak up? Would you speak up?

👇🏽 What’s one “small” moment you later realized wasn’t small at all?

“Bondye bon, li fè chemen kote pa gen chemen.”
Lord is good; He makes a way where there seems to be no way.

And if you’re cheering for Haiti tonight:

“Ayiti pap pè. Ayiti pap lage.”
Haiti will not be afraid. Haiti will not give up.

Yes, I’m a woman in SPAM, and no, I’m not talking about the canned meat (though the salt is real). 💅🏾

The SPAM life (Social, PR, Ads, Marketing) is a wild mix of strategy and “is this trend dead?” anxiety.

Here is what the grind looks like:
1. Social: We don’t just post; we architect communities.
2. PR: Turning chaos into cultural narratives.
3. Advertising: Ensuring the right eyes find the magic.
4. Marketing: The glue holding it all together.

We aren’t just “personality hires.” We’re building bridges, reading data, and catching cultural nuances before they become crises.

It’s more than a job; it’s a perspective. Knowing when to move and when to listen is a superpower.

Cheers to every woman in SPAM doing the heavy lifting. Manman, the grind is real, but we make it look easy! 🇭🇹✨

Which part of the SPAM life are you living today? 🥫👇🏾

➡️⬅️ My feed was doing the most today 😭

From “I’m impressed but confused” to “why are lizards like this??” Some creators really wake up and say
“let me stress strangers out real quick”

😂

Shoutout to everyone on my timeline today—this was a ride.

Be honest… Is your feed chaotic like this too?

Stepping out to head to work on a (fingers crossed) sunny day like we’ve all been waiting for ☀️😭

Toronto has been playing games with this weather, so if the sun is really outside today, I plan to act like I’ve never seen daylight before.

Suddenly everything feels better with a little sunshine.

Let’s all behave like people who have survived winter 😂

Hope your day feels a little lighter today 💛
