Aujourd’hui, mon cœur déborde de reconnaissance envers Dieu. Je Le remercie pour le précieux cadeau qu’Il m’a fait en me donnant une fille aussi merveilleuse que toi. Je prie pour qu’Il t’accorde une longue vie, une excellente santé, la paix, la joie et qu’Il guide chacun de tes pas.

Cette année restera gravée dans nos cœurs, car le Seigneur t’a également bénie en te confiant ton merveilleux petit garçon, Mickaël Jean. Quelle grâce extraordinaire ! Je bénis Dieu pour avoir veillé sur toi pendant toute ta grossesse et pour la naissance de ce magnifique bébé, qui est une source de bonheur et de fierté pour toute notre famille.

Que le Seigneur te fortifie dans ton rôle de maman, qu’Il remplisse ton foyer d’amour, de paix et d’abondantes bénédictions. Qu’Il protège et accompagne chaque jour le petit Mickaël Jean afin qu’il grandisse dans la santé, la sagesse et la faveur de Dieu.

Daida, sache que je t’aime profondément et que je suis très fière de la femme et de la maman que tu es devenue.

Some days, I’m still surprised this story is mine.

On World Refugee Day(June 20th), I’m especially reflecting on the journey that brought me here. Ten years ago, the UN () resettled my family in the United States after we fled conflict in eastern Congo and xenophobia in South Africa.

Today, I’m Dr. Daniela Bushiri, PhD. The first doctor in my family at 27. Incredible what can change in 10 years.
