Foreign Man Caught Stealing Rp190M in Kuta

BADUNG, Bali – A foreign man was caught by locals after allegedly stealing money from a money changer in Kuta, Badung, on Sunday (July 27).

A circulating video shows the man shirtless as he was detained by residents, with cash scattered on the street. The stolen money was estimated to be around Rp190 million (approx. US$12,000).

Kuta Police Chief Commissioner Agus Riwayanto Diputra confirmed that the suspect had been taken into custody.
“The suspect has been secured at the police station. We are still collecting further evidence,” Agus said on Sunday.

Police have yet to disclose the suspect’s identity or the full chronology of the theft.
“His identity and other details are still being gathered and will be released later,” Agus added.
