KHOROF-HARAR RESIDENTS CALL FOR URGENT INTERVENTION OVER LAND DISPUTE IN KURAW LOCATION
Residents of Khorof-Harar in Wajir County are calling for urgent intervention by the National Government and local leaders over what they describe as continued settlement and development activities by people from neighbouring Mandera County in the area.
The residents claim that houses, water kiosks, wells and other development projects have been established in the area, with some allegedly linked to the Mandera County Government.
They warn that the disputed area has historically been a source of tension between communities from Wajir and Mandera, urging the National and County Government to intervene before the situation escalates.
The residents have also appealed to Wajir Governor to use all available legal avenues to address the matter and safeguard peace in the area.
They are further calling on Wajir East Mp Adan Daud and other leaders to intervene and engage the relevant national and county authorities.
The residents have urged the people of Khorof-Harar and the wider Wajir community to remain calm, united and peaceful, emphasizing that their demand is for dialogue, lawful resolution and clarity over the disputed land—not confrontation.
