Speaking during a meeting with the Deaf Community, Disability Northern Kenya Chairperson Hafid Maalim Ibrahim decried the lack of sign language interpreters and job opportunities for qualified persons with disabilities.

The leaders now want President William Ruto, Opposition Leader Raila Odinga, and political parties to ensure Northeastern is represented in key positions, including nominated seats in Parliament, ahead of the 2027 elections.
