Wajir County has recorded a major public health milestone after 25 villages in Dela Ward, Eldas Sub-County, were officially declared open-defecation-free.
The achievement follows public health awareness campaigns that saw residents build toilets and abandon open defecation — a practice long blamed for recurring diarrhoeal diseases in the region.
Officials say the milestone, spread across Dela, Anole, and Abduwako locations, is a victory for health, dignity, and community development.
